“I realized that I had spent my whole life reading history books that never had anybody in them that looked like me, who had stories that were similar to mine or my parents...” professor @CountessCanuck said. “They’re there, but nobody’s written them.”

@KoltforKy@troy_senik I've always thought it both peculiar and telling that no one had written about RMJ since 1932. I still believe it's because he was considered an embarrassment given his relationship with Chinn. I hope someone decides to update Leland Myers' work on him.
@AmericanAir I'm a loyal customer, & appreciate your crews. They work hard & do a great job. My one complaint: you have no GF snacks. None. Unless you're in 1st class. Please make GF food available to all. I pay a lot to fly. It'd be nice to have more than water. Thx. #glutenfree
I mistrust folks who say they're "not political" even more than MAGATs, Kluckers, & the wannabe leaders of Gilead. They're either lying, or they're so apathetic & clueless they're helping to propel the agendas of the aforementioned. #politicalstand#Resist#grassroots#Blackpower
This was such a powerful moment from Amrita Chakrabarti Myers' CGH lecture on "The Vice President's Black Wife." https://t.co/P6VWmQoGV1

Friends, I'll be on @ASALH tv this Thurs (Feb 06) at 6pm EST. We'll be talking Black women, slavery, labor, and US History writ large. Tune in! I'm honored to be included in the #BlackHistoryMonth lineup for an org I have belonged to since grad school. @UNC_Press@pandelectures
Did you know: it wasn't illegal to teach enslaved people to read & write in 19c KY. This & other laws were used to support the myth that slavery was "kinder & gentler" in the Bluegrass State. It wasn't. Read The VPBW for more #BlackHistory#blackhistory365#BlackHistoryMonth
Earlier this week, we hosted historian Amrita Chakrabarti Myers for her amazing lecture "The Vice President's Black Wife." If you weren't able to join us, you can watch it here: https://t.co/KaFNe8lxP5
