Rodney: Unions are about freedom, fairness, and security. I’m an ironworker apprentice instructor. You’ve got the freedom to travel if you want. You’ve got the freedom to take time off if you need to. They’re fair with wages across the board—that’s number one. Wages and benefits are going to exceed what you get in a non-union job.

Like I said, I can travel anywhere in the country and get a job tomorrow. I can get online, check the job line, and call any local. If they’ve got work, they’ll put me on it.

In the last 24 hours, 28 U.S. military flights evacuated approximately 10,400 people from Kabul. 61 coalition aircrafts evacuated approximately 5,900 people.
