Something interesting the #dhh21#parlamint group noticed: during the UK's huge second wave, there was no obvious increase in parliamentary discourse about #COVID19, same with Slovenia. The heaviest discussion happened during the (smaller) first wave

#parlamint group is using the t-SNE technique to plot similar words across countries in two-dimensional space. As this 2016 article explains, it's more complicated than you might think... #dhh21#digitalhumanities

This graph by @rtgriscom shows when 'covid' overtook 'coronavirus' in the parlance of UK parliament...a bit delayed relative to @WHO's official naming (11 Feb) #dhh21#parlamint#digitalhumanities
UK locked down in late March 2020, but only in June do we see 'virus' collocating with lockdown and restriction. Why? Well, when you impose an emergency lockdown, you don't get Parliament together to discuss it. Lifting said lockdown is a different story #dhh21#dh#parlamint
@Isajamiila gives the #parlamint status update for the 6th day of #dhh21 - looking at collocation networks and differences among parties. (Also, https://t.co/K5Pt8rUaJF seems to eliminate people's fear of sitting in the front row) #digitalhumanities

Statistically, in the UK corpus, "post-covid" collocates strongly with "post-#Brexit" but with only four examples I'm not sure how much weight to place on this ๐ค #dhh21#DigitalHumanities#parlamint#COVID19
@RubenRos8 giving today's status update for the #parlamint group at #dhh21. We're putting together a report describing our methodology, the size and composition of each corpus, and interesting observations so far
The #parlamint group is wrapping up the first week of #dhh2021. As we begin to plot keywords over time (pictured below is "epidemia" from the Italian data), we find our focus solidifying. Next week we'll embark on word embeddings and perhaps some sentiment analysis?? #DH
This week I'm tweeting for the #dhh21 ParlaMint group. Follow along as we use #DH methods to discover how Polish, Italian, Slovenian, UK, Dutch parliaments have responded to #COVID19

Couldn't agree more. We shouldn't mince words here. It is racist to pretend that 11 million people, overwhelmingly people of color who've lived here on average 15 years, are not "persons" under the Constitution.
They want to return us to the 3/5 clauseโand make it a 0/5 clause.
