Thank you for your comment and for sharing your thoughts. We understand and respect your opinion.

On one hand you are right. The numbers do not matter to us. We are committed to our work of preserving and honoring the memory of the victims, regardless of how many people engage with us on social media or how many visitors come to the site. Memory is our duty and we will simply continue to fulfill it.

On the other hand, reaching more people is crucial for another part of our mission: education. Increasing our followers helps us spread awareness and educate more people about the history and atrocities of Auschwitz. Here we can reach those people that will never visit the site. As we do not use any commercial tools to reach more people and it seems that algorithm is not in our favor, we rely on engagement of people who follow and support our work.

So yes, while we are the institutional voice of a site that preserves the memory of all victims, we believe it is essential for this voice to reach as many people as possible. This shapes memory - also in this strange virtual space - and ensures that the stories of the past are a living and meaningful.
