As we all expected, the real lesson here is “don’t bet on your own team…unless you can get an injunction to restore your eligibility, then retard the legal process to the point that a final eligibility decision is delayed past the point of your final season ending.”
99.9% of “slippery slope!” arguments are made in bad faith and should be ignored, but I feel like noting that “county judge says QB who bet on his own team can play for the local top 10 program” might be nightmarish precedent fits into the other 0.1%.

Why try to re-invent the wheel when I'll never be able to match what the good weatherman has already built?
I've always loved his work, and he took it to the next level... now it's time we do too!
@ProfessorSides I certainly assume there will be personal attorneys involved. If/when the NCAA (en)forcibly drops the hammer and it’s upheld, it will then become a matter of Sorsby’s personal representation duking it out with Tech for NIL clawbacks.
The NCAA is investigating Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby for sports gambling, per @PeteThamel. He's checking into a residential treatment program for a gambling addiction. More info here: https://t.co/sp3GzJwL4T
.an addendum: you could have also seeded it so that TTU was in the Cotton and the potential Ohio St/A&M game was in the Orange.
You could argue this gives Miami an advantage if they win in round one, but I bet A&M would have a larger home field in Arlington than Miami in Miami.
I didn’t want to bring this up (as I could easily be perceived as a homer) but I think @BradPowers7 is spot on here.
Not only does the Ole Miss/Tulane rematch stink, but potentially having A&M play in the Cotton Bowl in rd 2 seems unfair to Ohio State.
If the committee flipped Ole Miss and Texas A&M:
-You AVOID two rematches (Ole Miss/Tulane, Ole Miss/Georgia).
-You don't PUNISH Ohio State by having them possibly play A&M in Arlington.
No. 3 Georgia got a much easier draw than No. 2 Ohio St.
Why is this not being discussed?

The Sooner defense has been their calling card all season but it let them down last week. How will that play out this week?

@MattBrownEP I assume today’s report did not do anything to assuage these concerns? This specific part of the ESPN report caught my eye:
“The money infusion is…needed at a number of Big Ten schools that are struggling with debt service on construction, rising operational expenses…”
