"Ford government looking at 'every option' as school boards struggle to find teachers." Except for treating teachers with respect, dramatically reducing violence, reducing workload, and hiring more EAs (paying them more)! #onted#edchat

@h0mic1de@MikeJToronto Do you know how schools work? EAs don’t generally mark.
You obviously don’t know many students. $1K+ is easy for a teacher to spend to support curriculum. When I was in private business my expenditure was for daily travel, meals and maybe a cute decor item for my office space.
@h0mic1de@MikeJToronto Uh, unless they don’t get an EA at all. Many schools have kids who would once have had support who get none now. The EAs are supporting students with behaviours associated with exceptionalities. Even then the EAs have to split their time between multiple classrooms.
@h0mic1de@MikeJToronto It isn’t ⬇️ work to have necessary support staff in the classroom. It’s ⬇️ learning for everyone if they aren’t there.
A ⬆️ class means ⬇️ time for student to have getting support from their teacher.
Higher cost is living means I can’t afford to spend my own $ on my class.
@h0mic1de@MikeJToronto I want to have students with the necessary supports to manage their needs.
I want smaller class sizes so that kids can get more small ratio learning opportunities.
I want learning/teaching resources I don’t have to pay for.
And yes, a cost of living increase would be nice.
There is no path to the @FordNation government weathering #GreenbeltGate that doesn't begin with reversing the $8.3 billion Greenbelt giveaway in its entirety.

It’s time to come out of hiding and face the music, Premier.
This government MUST recall the Legislature NOW so that the @OntarioNDP can table our legislation to restore Ford’s carved up land to the #Greenbelt.
