@QuintonLucasKC I understand regional cooperation to spread the financial burden. Makes sense. But if not downtown, the for sale Buick site in Midtown seems like a slam dunk. Would even be on a potential East/West streetcar line. Pretty close to a Wrigleyville clone.
#NEW: Some Kansas lawmakers have seen conceptual renderings of what a domed new stadium for the Kansas City @Chiefs could look like positioned near The Legends and Kansas Speedway in western Wyandotte County.

it’s wild that coastal cities have spent years debating if YIMBY policies will lower rents, and Austin just… did it
they streamlined permitting, upzoned most of the city, and eliminated parking mandates. Tons of housing is going up and rents are plummeting.
YIMBY policies work
@QuintonLucasKC Good to hear. Why don’t developers in KC develop classic row houses? St Louis has so many of these. Pittsburgh just approved row house zoning for their entire city.
Seems city development has tilted to mostly large or luxury development.
@BarsottiKlb@lukeranker They initially pitched 1,038 units last summer. It’s a ten year build out in phases, this first phase proposes 400 apartments. I’m guessing they start building closest to the stadium and work their way west, but haven’t seen that confirmed.
Here are new renderings of the $800M+ mixed-use district planned by the Kansas City Current on most of the Berkley Riverfront's remaining undeveloped land. Marquee Development, of Chicago, will serve as co-developer for the phased project. Detailed story to follow.
77% of Americans want a 4-day workweek.
Even corporate CEOs agree: it's the future.
Workers are 400% more productive than we were in the 1940s. They are also stressed out, anxious, and exhausted.
It's time for a 32-hour workweek with no loss in pay.

@ABJayhawk@KCSportsTEC@PatrickTuohey There was talk the teams wanted an April election to avoid the high turnout that’s inevitable in November. In any case, it sounds like KCMO doesn’t have much confidence voters would approve another stadium question if they’re considering approving subsidies without a vote.
@ABJayhawk@KCSportsTEC@PatrickTuohey Greater voter participation sounds great to me. Are you implying greater voter participation would sway this vote one way or the other?
@QuintonLucasKC@Zwii@KCTenants Reconsider the East Village! Subsidize a much requested amenity: Target like we did Costco in Midtown. Make 12th a transit corridor with shuttles running around games to KCATA park and rides and yes, P&L. Make a requirement to replace the EV apartments. Create a true village!
@CBQ_Fanatic I always go back to this pic. Same number of people, much different impacts. Busses incite such a negative emotional reaction for many car users, which is a problem.
@YesOn1JacksonCo Why haven’t the Chiefs committed to keeping their tax generating offices and training facility in Jackson County? Is this a partnership or not? https://t.co/KKaxkbruDW
As the Kansas City Chiefs and Jackson County hammer out a new lease, one sticking point could have significant tax consequences. https://t.co/56QIisJfbB
