It's another gorgeous Saturday in the Kansas City River Market! 4 of Missouri's finest craft distilleries are out here tasting their spirits and representing the Missouri Spirits Expedition. @STilL630@PinckneyBend @jriegerco
We're back again at the Saturday River Market tasting in Kansas City! Today we've got @jriegerco and Tall Pines Distillery in Pineville MO! Come out and say hi and sample some Missouri Spirits! #showmespirits
This morning at 11am I'll be talking with Jasper Mirabile @jasperskc on @kcmotalkradio 710am and 103.7fm. Talking mostly about the Missouri Craft Distillers Guild and the Missouri Spirits Expedition. @CraftMissouri
@wnorris3@emmajanzen@CraftMissouri Yep. And haven't mentioned yet laws that allow for beer/wine to be shipped directly to consumers, while spirits can not. All of this is related to lingering impact from Prohibition. Spirits do not get treated the same. They should. Parity is needed.
THIS. We need parity in the industry. Alcohol is alcohol is alcohol...it doesn't matter if it's beer, wine, or spirits based. Distillers are treated differently, and it's not a level playing field. @emmajanzen
@emmajanzen True. And very frustrating. However, a big reason this happens is due to the disparity in taxation between malt-based fermented alcohol vs. actual spirits. Companies and brands are incentivized against using spirits. That needs to change. @CraftMissouri
Check this out! The listing of MO Distilleries on our Missouri Spirits Expedition is incomplete, so we'll need to get that updated. But here's another great resource for Distillery tours!
Totally missed this: last year @DistilledSpirit launched a distillery tourism website with a database for finding distilleries to visit, including 40+ state-by-state trails. https://t.co/IBanDO5DR0
Well it's official. As of yesterday I am the President of the Missouri Craft Distillers Guild. There's an amazing Distilling industry in our state and I look forward to working with my fellow Distillers to drive more awareness and tourism to our businesses! @CraftMissouri

@TravelinMissou2 @JRiegerCo @DrinkKansasCity Excellent writeup! @JRiegerCo is one of the many fine Distillery stops on the Missouri Spirits Expedition, our version of the Bourbon Trail!
