Two know-nothing b/fast TV presenters in Australia can’t think of anything UK exports to Oz, bringing paroxysms of delight to the usual self-loathing Brits on twitter who treat their ignorance as gospel and never miss a chance to do UK down.
So let me do the homework they should have done for themselves. We export almost £11bn/year to Oz and that’s set to double in a decade, including state of the art nuclear-powered subs. Current exports include:
£500m pharma,
£400m cars,
£340m manufacturing,
£250m drinks (inc whisky — you’d think they know about that), £2bn business services,
£2.5bn financial services,
£1bn telecoms and digital.
And we sell twice as much to Oz as it sells to us.
