@MattLear @MLB The runner did what he was supposed to do. The runner can take what ever path we they wish to the base. The “base path” is only established when a tag attempt is made. If the runner moves to get hit by the thrown ball (I.e. sticks his arm out) then yes, interference is the call.

There’s a rule in baseball called the “advantageous 4th” where it is meant for situations like this. They could’ve also appealed that the runner from 3rd didn’t tag and the run wouldn’t have counted

@PitchingNinja It’s strange but very explainable. This is where the “advantageous 4th out” rule applies. Meaning that the Blue Jays could appealed that both the runner from 1st AND 3rd left early and/or didn’t retouch their original base, and Both runner would be out and no run scores.
