Mississippi State just:

• earned its FIRST EVER (!!) WCWS berth
• snapped Oklahoma’s 9-yr WCWS streak
• ^ OU had been to 13 of the last 14 WCWS
• shut out OU for FIRST time since 2019

And this ALL happened in Norman.

An upset of EPIC proportions.

Unlucky number 400. OU women's softball, the nation's No. 1 offense, shut out for the 1st time in 399 games, in a home game for another trip to a "home" World Series. What a dynastic run. Congrats to Mississippi State ... and to Delainey Everett in her first start of the season.

No doubt the Hogs have a better overall body of work in my eyes, but @HailStateBB is several spots ahead in the RPI, which ultimately, was king in this scenario.

I actually think MSU, with McPherson back, can be a national title contender, so ultimately no big issue.
