A whistleblower revealed that Brazil's far-right Bolsonaro family dynasty met with Meta to discuss US plans to interfere in Brazil's election, to prevent Lula from winning.

Lula's Facebook and Instagram accounts were censored a few days before the first round of the presidential election.

This had a huge impact on the election, because Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which are all owned by Meta, are the most popular apps in Brazil, and are hugely influential all across Latin America. (Jair Bolsonaro's son Flávio was declared the winner of the first round of the vote, by a narrow margin.)

Meta later admitted that Lula's accounts had been restricted, but it claimed that this was supposedly due to a "technical error"...

The whistleblower who disclosed this is Nadia Beller, a Bolivian journalist who was almost killed by hitmen hired by Fernando Cerimedo, a far-right Argentine political operative who oversees election interference, bots, and disinformation campaigns.

Cerimedo is closely linked to the US government and has worked for pretty much every right-wing leader in Latin America. He was photographed with Donald Trump Jr. and members of the Bolsonaro family, and he received an award at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida a few months before he was arrested for the failed assassination attempt against Beller, his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

Mahmoud Khalil urged pro-Palestinian protesters in New York to keep holding Mayor Zohran Mamdani accountable, but criticized those calling him a “genocide enabler,” warning that such accusations diminish the meaning of genocide.

“That takes away so much from the word genocide,” Khalil said, comparing the accusation directed at the New York mayor to the way Israel’s supporters indiscriminately invoke antisemitism.

Khalil acknowledged protesters’ frustrations, but urged activists to move away from “purity politics” and internal infighting, and instead focus on grassroots organizing, political education, and extending one another “some grace.”

Palestinians being killed cannot wait for endless theorizing about liberation and revolution, he argued. The priority must be stopping U.S. weapons shipments to Israel.

President Trump, in a Truth Social post Friday night complaining that he was passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize, claimed that he had settled 8 wars, and by launching the Iran war prevented the the “entire Middle East from blowing up.”

Here's where the eight wars he lists stand:

➤ Israel and Iran: The US and Israel launched a new war in February that killed Iran's supreme leader. Despite on-and-off ceasefires, the US and Iran are still exchanging fire. Iran has retaliated with strikes on US bases across the Gulf and by choking shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, battering the economies of Gulf states.

➤ Cambodia and Thailand: Fighting reignited in December 2025, months after the truce Trump pressed for in July. At least 150 people were killed across both rounds, according to Crisis Group. A ceasefire reached with China's help has held since December 27 but is under strain.

➤ Kosovo and Serbia: The two were not at war. Tensions persist.

➤ Congo and Rwanda: Despite the Washington Peace Accords, fighting between Rwanda-backed M23 rebels and Congolese forces continues in eastern Congo.

➤ Pakistan and India: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said Trump did not mediate the May 2025 ceasefire.

➤ Egypt and Ethiopia: The two never went to war. Their dispute over Ethiopia's Nile dam remains unresolved.

➤ Armenia and Azerbaijan: The two leaders agreed to a peace deal at the White House in August 2025, Trump's only real claim on the list.

➤ Israel and Hamas: Israel had killed more than 1,460 Palestinians in Gaza since the October 2025 ceasefire as of June, according to Gaza's Health Ministry, and its strikes and restrictions on basic aid continue.

Every geolocated clip links to its original post and source. Users can filter by area, date and type of attack, and overlay UN satellite damage assessments (UNOSAT). The full dataset is downloadable.

The group launched its archive in July with more than 64,500 videos and 17,900 photos and says more footage will be added.
