Clean water is not a privilege, it's a child's right. Today, we joined partners in Enkare Nairowua, Narok South, to mark the #DayOfTheAfricanChild2026 and advocate for universal access to #WASH services. We're helping create healthier, safer futures for children. π§ #ChildRights
With @CREAWKenya and @careintuk, the delegation learned about the @FCDOGovUKβs flagship βWhat Worksβ programme to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls, and met domestic abuse survivors who shared their experiences of recovery and evidence-led support services.
Lack of access to safe water, sanitation, healthcare and quality education continues to expose many of African children to heightened risks of violence, discrimination, exclusion and poor health outcomes. These barriers undermine their dignity, safety and ability to reach their full potential.
As Africa marks the Day of the African Child 2026, CREAW reaffirms its commitment to advancing and protecting the rights of every child, advocating for equitable access to essential services and safe environments where children can learn, grow and thrive free from violence and discrimination.

Yesterday was more than a launch. It was a powerful reminder of what is possible when people come together with shared purpose, courage, and commitment.
To everyone who showed up, supported, partnered, amplified, and stood with us during the launch of the CREAW Strategic Plan 2026β2030 ....thank you! Your presence filled the room with hope, solidarity, and renewed energy for the work ahead.
As we reflected on 26 years of impact and looked ahead to the future, one thing felt deeply clear: we cannot build a just and equitable society for women and girls alone. It will take all of us: our voices, our partnerships, and our collective action.
We are grateful to be walking this journey with you.

STATEMENT: There is still a lot of underreporting, and femicide is not recognised as its own crime. Most cases are listed as homicides without noting the gendered motive behind the killing, which makes it impossible to track them properly.
STATEMENT: The data shows that most perpetrators are intimate partners or family members, & many cases happen at home. This points to a failure in protection systems within families & households.
STATEMENT: We acknowledge the Presidentβs effort to establish the Technical Working Group on GBV, including Femicide, and the subsequent report that was launched on 26/5/2026. However, we are deeply concerned that the President has not acted on the groupβs key recommendations...
STATEMENT: If these demands are not met, it will demonstrate a lack of commitment and accountability on the part of duty bearers. If there is no action within the next 40 days, we will organise peaceful protests across the country and file a Strategic Interest Litigation (SIL)
