Weekend recap into Monday.
Majors led and the market firmed up. $BTC +1.7%, $ETH +3%, $SOL +3.3% since Friday, breadth back to 70% green.
$PUMP was the standout, up 23% as Pump(dot)fun flipped Hyperliquid and Tron on 24h revenue, with Ansem's public wallet buying and airdrop chatter behind it.
Institutions rails - DTCC ran its first live production tokenized Treasury repo trades on $CC Canton with BlackRock, JPM and Goldman, and Robinhood Earn crossed $100M powered by $MORPHO.
On the other hand $AERO and $VELO fell as their merge slipped 1 to 2 months for a Mythos audit, and $ONDO faded despite its institutional week.
Strategy still paused, no Bitcoin bought July 13 to 19 and $263.5M of stock sold.
Relative strength for $BTC vs the indices to close the week. A chip rout dragged NASDAQ futures lower while $BTC held above $64K.
Spot BTC ETFs posted a third straight green day, a welcome move, even as ETH flow turned negative yesterday. $432M liquidated in the past 24 hours, 75% longs.
- $SYRUP passed MIP-021 at 99.97%, moving Maple to a rules based buyback funded by protocol revenue from August.
- $VVV Venice now buys back and burns VVV with 5% of every credit purchase, a burn tied directly to platform revenue.

Cooler June CPI put a bid under risk, though soft US equities today are capping it, with $SPCX back near its IPO price.
$BTC is quiet above $64K. $ETH is the standout, +2% today and +6.7% on the week (ETHBTC +6% on 7d), and beta like $ETHFI $LDO is still resilient after the Robinhood run and narratives.
Breadth is only even 240 up/215 down, so it stays selective.
- $PUMP +19 after its first team unlock passed without a dump,
- $ONDO +6 as JPMorgan, BlackRock and Goldman line up to tokenize stocks and Treasurys on DTCC.
- Ostium's vault was drained for ~$18M in a future-dated oracle exploit.

Our June 27 note flagged that ethereum:0x643c4e15d7d62ad0abec4a9bd4b001aa3ef52d66 pushed its blog to after the July 8 call to address the SSF buyback question and token utility directly. Today's post and the accompanying proposal, MIP‑021, answer both.
MIP‑021 replaces discretionary buybacks with a tiered rule on monthly revenue: 10% under $1.5M, 20% from $1.5M to $2.0M, and 30% above $2.0M. Buybacks run after month end, sit in the SSF, and the framework lasts six months. The holder vote runs July 13 to 17.
Applied to the last six months of revenue, the formula implies roughly $2.40M of buybacks, about $400k a month. Annualized, that is close to $4.8M, or around 2.6% of a ~$185M mcap. That pace is modest, and the timing suggests the market read it as underwhelming, which we think helps explain the selloff since the post went up.
Where are the SSF buybacks? What does SYRUP actually do?
Today, @joe_defi answers them in one place: how Maple is built, where revenue goes, why buybacks slowed in 2026, and the rules-based model, dashboard, and reporting cadence coming next.

Risk off across the board after Trump declared the Iran ceasefire over, following US airstrikes and the removal of Iran's oil waiver.
Brent traded as high as $80, and markets traded it as an inflation shock.
Crypto followed, with the usual beta split. bitcoin:native held relatively firm at −3% near $62k, while solana:So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112 took it harder at −6.5%. Higher beta bled more, same as everywhere else in risk.
On the alt side
- cash-cat:native ran from $10M to $150M overnight, a memecoin nodding to Robinhood's original name, trading via Uniswap on Robinhood Chain, with ethereum:0x1f9840a85d5af5bf1d1762f925bdaddc4201f984 volume a quiet beneficiary.
- ethereum:0x643c4e15d7d62ad0abec4a9bd4b001aa3ef52d66 Maple answered the buyback question with MIP-021, a rule that scales buybacks with revenue, 10% to 30% of monthly revenue by tier.
- solana:Grass7B4RdKfBCjTKgSqnXkqjwiGvQyFbuSCUJr3XXjs held its holder call, guided decent H2 revenue but delivered no major reveal, a buy the rumour sell the news, down more than 30%.
