Here's a little non-election related reading if you need a break. My colleague @CreedeNewton and I discovered a Heritage Foundation Director & Project 2025 Contributor palling around with some very unsavory characters https://t.co/su3JRFDfxr
Met with boos and shouted insults at the libertarian convention tonight, former President Trump nonetheless tried to win the crowd over, promising to install a libertarian in his Cabinet.

💥Hungary’s disgraced president @KatalinNovak_HU announced her resignation on TV. Unbelievable.
Katalin Novák, a close Orbán ally and fomer minister of family affairs, pardoned a convicted pedophile’s accomplice who helped cover up his boss’ sexual abuse of children at an orphanage.
This pardon was kept secret for almost a year but it was eventually revealed a week ago, creating a huge scandal. Orbán and Fidesz party lieutenants as well as pundits turned against Novák, who couldn’t explain her decision.
Government sources also tell me that Judit Varga, former minister of justice who also signed off on the controversial pardoning, will also step down of all her political offices, including her candidacy for the European Parliament.
🧵Read my previous tweets on the whole story as it unfolded during last week.👇

I got contracts between Chris Rufo, Claremont Institute fellow Jeremy Carl, and writer Michael O’Shea and the Danube Institute. The Hungarian government funds the Danube Institute. The docs raise concerns that these men should register as foreign agents https://t.co/lbQvJlnxe7
Carl's contract features a discrepancy between the Hungarian and English. It names the topics of his research, and only the Hungarian says These could be “an example for the American right-wing.” The English does not. A FARA expert said contracts are usually not so explicit.
‼️Orbán’s government has long courted international conservative and far-right movements. @Hatewatch obtained contracts between Hungarian government proxies and U.S. conservative figures that suggest they should register as foreign agents under U.S. law.👇

Three right-wing individuals signed contracts that may require they register as foreign agents for a Hungarian government-funded org, #Hatewatch reports.
According to an expert's review of the contracts, language may be being altered to avoid registering
