@bahdcoder I use Gitlab and Bitbucket at work, during my free time, I rather spend it with my family. Consequence, my personal Github looks like a wasteland, but I code everyday 🤷♂️
@MegaMagikarp_YT @fuckyouiquit I have 32 days of vacation in Germany (previously 28), plus one day for my Birthday (and all the other holidays obviously). Love it
Things I rarely use:
🚫 Currying
🚫 Middleware
🚫 Inheritance
🚫 Polymorphism
🚫 IoC containers
🚫 The actor model
🚫 Aspect-oriented programming
🚫 Complex design patterns
My typical approach:
✅ Write small functions
✅ Try to keep most functions pure
✅ Compose them together
Programming doesn’t have to be complicated.
@oBServe1729 @brrobison_@historyinmemes you could learn ancient greek and study with Aristoteles. That would be amazing (specially if you can propose contemporary philosophy topics to hear his inputs)
@Ayoubius@arielhelwani but there is no real element of surprise. I'm not even asking for a kickboxing match, but make it bare knuckle or boxing with mma gloves. Anything that can add some tiny uncertainty.
Boxing champ against MMA fighter on boxing rules? Too predictable
@brandymedia Web-wise I would do some small personal projects, but I think I would dive into robotics. Mixing coding with soldering and the physical world is very appealing, damn that would be fun
@Cico_j @ParadoxOf1@mr_james_c@furcoatpajamas@KonstantinKisin butchering Kant, is like we can not access a thing on itself directly, we only access how it is presented to us. Therefore we can't really name properties of the thing on itself.
Imagine a 2 dimensional being, his description of nature laws would differ from ours
@Cico_j @ParadoxOf1@mr_james_c@furcoatpajamas@KonstantinKisin I would say that the law is an abstraction of some patterns that we are able to perceive. So in that regard, the law as such hasn't been described prior to humans (unless by another similar species(?)) but the thing from where we extracted the law from has prior existence 1/2
@Cico_j @ParadoxOf1@mr_james_c@furcoatpajamas@KonstantinKisin I believe that he is trying to say that these laws are abstractions/descriptions humans did based on what we are able to perceive.
So is not a property of the thing on itself, rather a property of our perception of whatever that thing ultimately is.
@Nilliz85@BowTiedOx @RealAlexLucio @MarioNawfal go watch Pride fights or UFC1. Reach and weight is of great benefit IF skills are similar. Google "Fedor vs Hong Man Choi".
Zuck has been competing in BJJ, I think, at this moment, he can submit Elon Musk somewhat easily
@AgainSum1 @evan_degiobbi@MMAFighting both are at a disadvantage, because Jones can't wrestle or use submissions. I still thinks Bones wins easily, but this would be the closest thing to competitive match they could have
@Mudgey8@JonnyBones@Tyson_Fury For instance, yes,
the Powerslap HW champ could probably beat both Jones and Fury on that ruleset, but PS is an extremely reductive (and idiotic) form of combat.
Anywhere else he would be in deep trouble. The discussion goes a bit beyond sport crossovers, is about fighting.
@Mudgey8@JonnyBones@Tyson_Fury yes, I agree on boxing being the bigger sport, also that each wins on their own sports. But still, talking about unarmed 1-on-1 combat, I think nobody beats Jones, nor Gordon Ryan, Rico Verhoeven, or the Gipsy King. It is more about comparing the sports imo
@Mudgey8@JonnyBones@Tyson_Fury I think it comes as a push back to boxing on which is the "best" combat sport, kind of a reminder of how MMA came to be (as an evolution of NHB fights and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to combat).
Of course with weapons the discussion is a different story
@Mudgey8@JonnyBones@Tyson_Fury not exactly the same. The locker room situation implies unarmed combat. @JonnyBones is without a doubt the better fighter. That is the point (underlaying point by Joe Rogan being that boxing it is much more limited as a combat sport than MMA).
@Fraudgers12@AndreaDanieli11@JakeGagain@TeamKhabib@Fraudgers12 most people think of goat as the best, most dominant X. Conor was very good, but two title fights is not enough for goat status.
You are talking about star power, and yes, Conor is the biggest star and Rousey would be in the list too. Just not on this list
@davidgokhshtein@TeamKhabib@TheNotoriousMMA@davidgokhshtein he did, and Matt Serra beat GSP, yet GSP has much more accolades. Conor was a great fighter, but only two title fights. Very popular and entertaining, but the list is about who the better fighter is, not the biggest star
