@rohanrumj It is so inspiring that these woman had the courage to form a union and fight for their rights in this time period, it is beyond remarkable! If these woman wouldn't have took it upon themselves to fight, who knows maybe woman wouldn't have the rights they have today. #gndr1000
@LeannaMurphyS I agree completely! It is hard to believe that in 2019 we still have woman struggling and expected to do certain roles over men. Work between men and women in the household and workplace should be distributed equally. #gndr1000
After watching woman's suffrage in Newfoundland I was surprised to learn the amount of time woman put into gaining their right to vote. They knew they deserved the same rights as men and they never stopped until they achieved, which is remarkable. Woman have rights too! #gndr1000
@Tiffanyvatcher1 I agree completely! It is her body and I believe she has total control over the decision she wants to make that is best for her. It is a hard enough decision for a woman to make and protestors are just making it harder on the woman by making her feel ashamed. #gndr1000
@HounsellMalory I agree! Being alone gives us to much time to think and reflect on all the stressors present in our life. It is important to spend time with others to relax your mind and live in the moment. I believe spending time with others is a great way to cope with stress! #hkr1000
@sarahjmartin16 I agree! When completing my MoodCheck I also noticed an increase in my mood when spending quality time with friends and family. It is important to take time for yourself but is also essential for your mental wellbeing to socialize and have fun with others! #hkr1000
After using the MoodCheck app it was clear to see what life events made me stressed vs relaxed. When deadlines for classes approached I was more stressed showing a negative mood where as when the sun shined and I got outdoors I was happy and my mind was clear from stress #hkr1000
@DanielleBickfo2 I agree! It is so wrong to leave out the abuser who is at fault and only put attention on the victim. People tend to blame the victim which is heartbreaking, they didn't ask to be abused. More fault needs to be put on the abusers in these violence situations. #gndr1000
@ErinCar07997502 I agree completely! People assume just because a mother is at home all day that it isn't considered a hard job when in fact they barely get any time to themselves. They need to be appreciated more for the unpaid work they do everyday! #gndr1000
Jackson Katz emphasizes the use of victim blaming when talking about domestic violence. People tend to look at how the victim is at fault when in fact the abuser has the issue. Violence needs to be stopped, we need to listen to the victims instead of faulting them! #gndr1000
@CaitlinTerao Woman contribute a lot of unpaid care work which is not valued to the extent that these woman deserve. It is heartbreaking to me that woman are expected to do all the care work and put their career aside. I feel men and woman should distribute the work at home equally. #gndr1000
@chelseaempike I agree completely! It is unacceptable how long it takes woman to get the correct diagnosis which then can be treated with the proper care. Many woman have a dream to be a mother and the proper efforts should be put in place to ensure the possibility of pregnancy. #gndr1000
Winnie Byanyima is a remarkable woman by advocating the rights woman deserve. We live in a world where woman should NOT have to choose between a family or career. Winnie preaches that woman are not valued in the way they deserve for their unpaid care work. #gndr1000
@SophieB29341295 I agree completely! People are so quick to call people skinny thinking it is a compliment but in fact has the same effect as calling someone fat. Any comment regarding body image is hurtful in my opinion because everyone has flaws they see in themselves #gndr1000
@MorganFry7 I agree completely! As we have learned in HKR 1000 "no pain, no gain" is not always the healthiest or safest approach when working out. You have to be experienced on the right amount of strain you put on your body so you avoid injury and have an effective workout. #HKR1000
@vegeta_wang I agree! Yoga is a perfect way for everyone to relax and unwind after a busy day. Yoga is a great form of meditation that stretches our muscles which helps with injury. I believe more people should fit yoga into their everyday activities to improve overall fitness. #hkr1000
In order to achieve fitness goals it is essential to set realistic short term goals and always keep your long term goals in mind! Physical activity is important but your mental capacity to follow through is also essential in succeeding your goals! https://t.co/uhNEhPTSeZ #hkr1000
@CaitlinTerao It is heartbreaking that this dangerous form of racism took the life of an innocent man. Medical professionals need to re-evaluate their thoughts on racism so this sort of behaviour does not happen again. It is unacceptable for people to not get treated fairly when sick #gndr1000
After reading about unintentional racism by health practitioners I was heartbroken to learn that such an act took the life of an innocent man. Health care professionals need to treat everyone with the same respect and care no matter what their race. #gndr1000
@SmithGenavieve I agree completely! It is heartbreaking watching young children grow up with the assumption that you can only live a certain life if you are the accepted shape or size. This portrayed perfect body image is lowering the self confidence of many people which is upsetting #gndr1000
