Too often in our society, things like house work and childcare are viewed as jobs for women to do. In my own experience this is true - at family gatherings, it is always the women who gather to do the clean up. It is time we shared the load equally #gndr1000
@CaitlinTerao Couldn't agree with you more! Our society needs to change its' views and start treating every patient the same, no matter their gender or race
Reading about Rachel's experience in an emergency situation was eye-opening. The dismissal of her pain was a prime example of how men and women being treated differently is embedded in our society, even if it is without conscious thought #gndr1000
With social media today, it is even more difficult to stop comparing yourself to other people. The media needs to start teaching everyone that it's okay to love yourself no matter what shape or size you are #gndr1000
@DanielleBickfo2 My thoughts exactly! Instead of trying to get people to change their bodies, we should be trying to teach people to love the body they are in now #gndr1000
Some people's response to the casting of Halle Bailey in the new Little Mermaid movie shows how much our society still has to do to end racism. Hopefully this movie can help to breakdown some of the barriers created by racism #gndr1000
@kckellymun I love seeing parents accept their children no matter what, as all parents should. It is something that helps youth love and accept themselves for who they are. #gndr1000
@TaraMcCarthy101 Listening to her speak about what she has gone through with so much confidence was amazing to watch. She is a true inspiration and a great advocate #gndr1000
In another world, the theory that multiracial people will end racism is the perfect solution. Unfortunately it is not the answer. More education and discussion is needed if we can ever hope to end racism #gndr1000
The video this week was so informative. It was great to learn how to better use terminology relating to trans people, so I can be as informed and inclusive as possible. #gndr1000
#gndr1000 It's astonishing that intersex babies have their gender chosen for them. Everyone should have the right to choose who they want to be. It's so important for gender to be seen as a spectrum rather than a choice!
