An Amarillo, Texas, police officer reportedly became obsessed and used Flock cameras along with other tracking tools to monitor his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend 76 times. The victim said the officer “knew everything about me.”

He first realized his safety was at risk when he left his apartment at 1 a.m. to go to the gym and saw Officer Eder’s marked patrol car slowly driving through the parking lot behind his vehicle.

“I’ve had to move where my kids sleep. I’ve had to change everything. It’s emotionally exhausting,” the victim said.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The sheriff dept. takes an oath to the constitution, 9 times out of 10 you can trust a sheriff, at least I can here.
City cops take an oath to the mayor and the city.
The flock cameras will stop zero violent crime, but they will write a fuck load of traffic tickets and make those cities a fuck load of money.
No one is coming to save you, but the matrix is coming for your money and your privacy.

Yes, all AI originally derives from humans. Understanding, as the Founding Fathers did, that human nature is flawed means that AI will reflect, and perhaps exacerbate, these flaws.

Our constitutional system is based on the idea that such flaws require power to be checked and balanced. While the Founders were concerned with government power in their day (and we should still be in ours), they would today fear the consolidation of technological power in the hands of a few companies with the potential to do great harm to humanity.

Doesn’t seem like a lot of deep thinking is going into how to channel technological innovations in a way that avoids these potentially devastating consequences.
