@BCofBWFC That’s true re Larra but I think we’ll see him at right back, right wing back and on the right wing at different points during the season. Basically what I’m saying is I don’t think it’s an insult to Dong to play GL ahead of him in that position.
@scouseclaret@AjBRFC@SamSBGBWFC Attendances have improved a lot since our takeover in 2019. Very similar average attendance to Burnley last season, despite being 2 leagues lower. We’ve sold 16.5k+ season tickets for next season.
@OBYates@rossco_1990 Exactly. Not having your team fully sorted / still having a fair bit of transfer business to do going into the opening day isn’t the disaster people are making it out to be. The right transfers on a limited budget take time, especially in a world cup year.
@38_0app Some of the BWFC ratings in the mid noughties seem low considering we were consistently finishing between 6th-8th. Jussi only 82 (below the likes of Roy Carroll) is ridiculous - very few better GKs in the prem at that point.
Also Nolan was superb in 05/06 and somehow is 70 rated
@zak_matt1@FergiBall@tom_from91167@LeonWobYP Booking for Touray too, then? He did the same thing to one of our players after standing up. Like I say there was a fair bit of shoving in there, would have had to been quite a few bookings if the ref was giving out yellows for small pushes.
@zak_matt1@FergiBall@tom_from91167@LeonWobYP I’m fine with Gale getting booked for time wasting, it was the notion that Baldwin was purely trying to take the free kick and only had eyes for the ball I was objecting to - clearly wasn’t the case. Booking for each probably fair but I think Baldwin was the worse offender.
@zak_matt1@FergiBall@tom_from91167@LeonWobYP Also that “shove” from Gale is nowhere near yellow card worthy, Touray jumping on the floor was laughable. If we’re saying that’s a booking then there should have been about 5 bookings in that one incident (including one for Touray when he managed to get back up, bless him.)
@zak_matt1@FergiBall@tom_from91167@LeonWobYP That would make more sense if Gale had arrived at the ball at the same time, but he didn’t. He always had to kick through Gale to get to the ball. Definitely some anger built into it. Don’t know how anyone can watch that last 10 mins or so and not think Bradford lost their heads.
@zak_matt1@FergiBall@tom_from91167@LeonWobYP I think he quite clearly was looking to. He was throwing his toys out the pram because he knew he was getting beat and had cocked up for the goal. Touray equally as embarrassing by launching himself on the ground after a light push in the chest. Think Bradford lost their heads.
@MarcIles BBC Radio Manchester have done him dirty with that graphic - completely took what he said out of context. What he said was perfectly fine and it’s a complete non-story. It’s really poor from BBC RM to isolate a few words and stir up anger like that.
@Diffractor1@FootballCliches Or they could try and implement the system that was initially promised. I.e only clear and obvious errors being challenged, not a ridiculously forensic re-refereeing of the game in an impossible quest to get every decision correct.
@DannyPillo91 I was also convinced he’d end up at left back, it clearly suits his skill set. He’s fine as a left-sided box-to-box centre mid but I found it baffling when Evatt sometimes used to play him as a deep lying playmaker, he’s far too 100mph for that.
MCFC have been punished, twice, for egregious financial cheating (2014, 2020). They await a verdict on 115+ more counts, on which their lawyers are stalling. There is NO doubt they're a brilliant team with an all-time great manager. But they are cheats.

@andygal1 Never liked this argument tbh. If the objective was just to hit the target then of course, but you’re trying to beat a pro keeper and therefore have to put more power on the shot / aim further into the corner. So it naturally comes with a bit of risk of missing the target.
@benmcquade_ Agreed very easy yes. We were on the same amount of pts after 11 games last year but its night and day in terms of performances. I also think the squad looks far better equipped for a promotion battle this time round, with this summer being our best transfer window in a long time
@alexjhurley@LeagueOne25 To me, it looks like another example of a player diving when it looks like they’re about to give the ball away in a dangerous area – and the ref not being brave enough to make the right call (I.e not a foul) in case it leads to a goal.
@alexjhurley@LeagueOne25 I think the frustration for a lot of fans is that they don’t believe the ref has blown for that minor pull 3 seconds before Norwood dives.
The argument that he was “playing advantage” doesn’t stack up when you actually look at the situation (Deep inside own half, surrounded).
