@SammonsLab I'm not sure this is true. I know many academics at my school who make $150-400K, especially if they consult. Plus the flexibility. Academia ain't all bad if you live in a state (WA) that pays workers

@saraeemery Pulling in money+pubs is more important. As somebody who has sat on a lot of searches, the talk is rarely the decider. I didn't even get an interview until I had over 20 papers, and 10-15 seems to be a minimum for most jobs these days
