@cig_destroyer@phl43 Think he’s saying real civilian damage doesn’t get censored, downplayed, pics make it out to the internet/media . So the prior reports of uncorroborated severe damage are exaggerations/lies.
@AmandaAchtman From the clip, she has cancer, and likely incurable if she was giving the funeral home a “heads up” she would probably need arrangements soon. That is likely why MAID was offered, not just that she is a senior.
@senatorshoshana@RadioFreeTom I’m not defending the false diagnoses. Or any malpractice. I simply made the observation that it is a difficult patient population, and Risperidone is a tool when used judiciously, and is not cruel in that circumstance.
@RadioFreeTom@senatorshoshana Nah, not trolling. Like both of you. Easy to criticize the care of a difficult patient population from far, harder to have practical solutions.
@senatorshoshana@RadioFreeTom RETARD, you likely know nothing about this difficult topic. You likely have never cared for or treated a psychotic violent demented patient. Can there be abuse? Sure. But I specifically said “judiciously”. Look the word up.
A very poorly researched article that does not go to the root of the problem. Dementia is a neurodegenerative process for which there is no cure. Medications are only for symptom management and many are used “off label”which is accepted practice. Medications allow a restless, confused, agitated patient to be attended to by their caretakers. Nursing homes are usually private businesses who pick and choose who they accept. Agitated, kicking and screaming patients need extra staff and that’s extra overhead cost so they don’t accept any patients with behavioral issues. Staff can be kicked, scratched, bitten during routine patient care. Families can’t keep dementia patients home as they are working, can’t afford hourly home health aid services (workers also quit if clients are aggressive) and they need to sleep. Dementia patients are restless and wonder at night. Many wonder away from home and get lost. Thus topic is complex and requires research. It’s not something for blind clickbait.
