@JamesTheMuttz There’s two reasons why it’s so high. 1)the RAM and storage (NAND chips) shortages are making what’s available extremely expensive. 2) But also, Valve cannot afford to sell the Steam Machine at a loss, because there’s no guarantee people will buy games on Steam.
@IIstura It’s a bad price, however it’s not Valve’s fault, in the same way it’s not PlayStations fault or Nintendos fault for their consoles going up, the hardware is just a mess right now, because the companies just have to buy ALL the ram & storage for the data centres and AI servers…
@mrpyo1 Two reasons. Firstly and a obvious one, the cost of hardware, especially storage and memory. The PS6 will be ridiculously high. Reason two, we don’t need new consoles, there’s lots of good looking games on PS5 and Series X which run at 60fps, smoothly as well.
@hagooomi It is a computer, as in you can play games on it, browse the web, edit videos, stuff like that. However it has the convenience of a gaming console, since the entire UI is based around using a controller to swap between games.
@Dexerto He is right, however some people are just going to watch games instead of play them regardless, even when they can afford a console/pc and the games, they just watch them for whatever reason.
@himbussy@SonicHero3D What do you mean by a ‘good’ graphics card? Because the only one which costs that much (that is directed at hobbyists) is the 5090. The RX 9070 XT is about $630-700, and that’s a very good card for 1440p or even 4k.
@SynthPotato AI is not worth all this nonsense, it was fine where it was, but all these AI bros (and companies) just HAD to ruin everything, just like they did with NFTs and crypto a few years ago.
@poleris_writes This is one of the problems with it, the government probably chose the cheapest company to make the ID verifiers, which is why they’re so broken and disfunctional.
@TimoTweetss I’m sick of people acting like it’s going to be some incredibly immersive simulator with RPG mechanics and a built in dating system. It won’t be that, it’s gonna be realistic and immersive, but not to the detriment of it being fun. It’s going to be an awesome action-crime game.
@suboxoneshawty I said not that long ago that things like this annoy me a lot, you can life a totally normal life, pay your taxes, work hard for your family, follow every single law, but your life can instantly be destroyed because of an idiot, and no punishment can repair that.
@CasperTopSecret@partialmean8 I don’t think that 2 billion budget is confirmed, and that would be Rockstars fault for not properly budgeting, no piece of media requires 2 billion, unless you were buying out and entirely town, which Rockstar is not doing. They also know it’s daft to charge $100 or even $90.
@kaceytron “Gets exposed for having a boyfriend…” didn’t he literally do some self-reflection last week saying he was lonely and no one cared about him? This is literally why, he’s an awful person.
@GordoFreem Hope they do better with GTA6 map, because Los Santos was the only interesting bit of the map, the rest was sometimes fun but doing missions up there was horrible online. The San Andreas map was awesome when I played it.
@ata_2001_@partialmean8 I’m gonna avoid it if it’s that much. If other people want to support greedy pricing, that’s fine, but I’m not, and I hope many others dont support it either.
