Francesca Hong hating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day makes like 10000x more sense now that I know she used to be a line cook. That's fine, that's lived experience.
Congratulations to Peggy Flanagan for winning the Democratic Senate primary in Minnesota.
Peggy was outspent 7 to 1 by billionaire super PACs and she WON.
The American people are sick and tired of establishment politics and policies.
They want REAL change.
This is an immensely damaging allegation from a credible source. The Platner campaign insisted that nothing new was coming, and that was obviously not the truth. Just devastating.
"I believe this allegation. Let me just make that very clear. Especially because, once again, there are other friends with correspondence from before Graham Platner became a known entity. The accusations, they are as credible as it's going to get." - @hasanthehun
Well, hold on now, let’s not get too high and mighty right after what happened with Eric Swalwell, who was leading the CA gov race as an establishment favorite before the allegations hit.
Clearly there’s no ideological fortress that’s 100% immune to this sort of bad actor.
Swapping out Graham Platner is obviously the right move. It should probably be Troy Jackson. He's from the same wing of the party. He got the Sanders endorsement. He's a favorite of local unions.
He also held down a Collins +35 (!) and Trump +15 state senate district.
The Graham Platner volunteers are shifting their energy toward elevating Troy Jackson, the Bernie-backed gubernatorial candidate who narrowly lost the race for the nomination, reports Nathan Bernard in Maine
Platner was not endorsed by nor is a member of DSA, this is a well known and easily searchable fact. Anyone identifying him as a DSA candidate is doing so disingenuously and using a very serious sexual assault allegation to further their own agenda
Platner’s source of strength was the people passionately committed to volunteer for him. On his campaign discord, people are sharing feelings of betrayal, heartbreak, and resignation. He has lost his base.
It no longer seems like a question of whether he will drop out, but when, and whether his campaign, by virtue of an overwhelming primary win, will be able to influence who replaces him.
