NØNOS just hit another big milestone.

Shield is now live on Sepolia, and the demo is impressive.

You deposit $ETH or $NOX, make a private payment, and the proof is generated right in your browser.

No sending your private transaction data off to a proving server.

The machine used in the demo generated the proof in:

• 4 threads
• 117,688 bytes
• 101.4 seconds
• 943 MiB peak memory

Then Ethereum verifies the proof onchain.

The part I really like is what you DON'T see on the public explorer.

Settlement #7 shows:

• Receiver: Not on chain
• Amount: Not on chain

The payment still settles.

The receiver wallet then shows 0.01 ETH received on Sepolia. That's the whole point of Shield.

Ethereum can verify that the payment is valid without putting the receiver and payment amount out in the open.

The web wallet routes requests through the @nym mixnet, adding another privacy layer around network traffic.

That's important because hiding your transaction details and hiding your network activity are two different problems.

NØNOS is working on both.

The payment is turned into a STARK proof locally, and Ethereum's verifier checks it before the value moves.

No trusted setup. No need to hand the proving job to some centralized service. The chain verifies the cryptographic proof and every proof shape has at least 80 provable bits.

The team has also been clear that an external audit needs to happen before mainnet.

That's exactly how it should be.

Ethereum has incredible transparency, but transparency shouldn't mean everyone's financial activity has to be exposed forever.

That's where privacy infrastructure like this can become extremely important and valuable.
