@KoroushAK If you filter out the sales pitch, the actual operational takeaway is simple: Don't buy parabolic spikes into resistance; look for price to compress tightly against a level with rising volume before taking a breakout confirmation.
@0xbeehive consolidation beneath major resistance is neutral until proven otherwise. Treating the level with caution and waiting for a verified breakout with real volume is sensible; accepting the author's rigid "guaranteed capitulation" narrative is not.
@BitcoinMagazine@Bitcoinconfasia Bottom line: Positive proof-of-concept and useful emergency option for large holdings while the community works on better permanent upgrades. For ordinary users the costs and friction currently outweigh the benefits unless quantum risk becomes more imminent.
I’ll be honest. While I’ve used passphrases on all of my hardware wallets for years, I’ve never generated my seed with dice. Like many people, I foolishly trusted my hardware wallets’ random number generator. This Cold Card failure which has devastated so many users has reminded me that security is never static. As attackers become more sophisticated, our security practices need to evolve too.
If you’re still committed to self custody, I recommend the following:
• Generate your seed with dice generated entropy if you haven’t already.
• Use a strong passphrase: either 5-7 truly random words or a 20+ character randomly generated string. Back it up securely. If you lose your passphrase, your Bitcoin is unrecoverable, even with your seed phrase.
• If you are still using single sig, move to multisig using hardware wallets from multiple vendors.
Unfortunately this has been a terrible lesson that self custody isn’t “set it and forget it.” It’s an ongoing process of improving your security as the threat landscape evolves.
And if all of this feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. I’ve heard the same from friends who I got into bitcoin. There’s no shame in choosing a simpler custody model right now, whether that’s keeping funds on a reputable exchange or using a managed multisig service like Unchained, if that better matches your comfort level and ability to securely manage the responsibility.
@AlexMasonCrypto Searches of his posts and web mentions turn up only retrospective claims—no archived screenshots, old threads, or contemporaneous posts from 2022 or pre-2025 confirming he made those exact calls publicly before the events occurred.
@CryptoCrewU ETF inflows turned negative ($-1.95B weekly), BTC-equity correlation inverted to -0.75, and on-chain SOPR sitting at 0.98 (underwater holders).
The macro says the tail risk is asymmetric to the downside right now.
