@TsarinaBomba Roth 401k + employer match… Instant 100% return on every dollar contributed. 50% goes to Roth which means YOUR contributions can be withdrawn at any time. The other 50% goes to Trad which means you need to wait. Both can be rolled into IRAs.
@notanyoneuknawh @BukiMeisha It’s simulacra. Media that references other media that itself has no basis in a basic reality. It’s ever changing and hyper-artificial. The reason it feels so soulless is because it is completely uninspired. It is a copy without an original.
@gruntdoc@AlpacaAurelius When an AI system can not only perform scans, but interpret the results and provide diagnosis instantaneously, and more accurately than a human.. When the patient is immediately moved to an automated operating room that runs 24/7 and is 10x more efficient and safe.
@Nudsoh@aelfred_D Not really. The Kantian view is a sort of consequential razor that can apply to most things to produce correct moral conclusions culture agnostic.
When considering whether I should do something, what if everyone were to do that thing, would the consequences be favorable?
@BowTiedGatorDDS Diet is is the answer. The dude probably eats very little processed food/drink with added sugars. Also, as others have mentioned, brushing and flossing regularly is enough. Humans were around for 200,000 years before we were able to scrub teeth with water jets and fluoride paste
@Mercyfallsy@Fabulous_Corvid@DylanoA4 Again, not sure what you’re on about. I never made any assumptions about his intention, I just paraphrased what he said. I’m not sure you have any idea why he said it either🤷♂️
@Mercyfallsy@Fabulous_Corvid@DylanoA4 I never stated that Gregor isn’t a bug. I pointed out that Kafka said don’t use a bug on the cover and stated that any translation saying explicitly “insect” is a mistranslation. And on the word itself, where’s the problem? You literally confirmed the etymology.
@Fabulous_Corvid@DylanoA4 That is a failure of translation. The original German word that Kafka used was “ungeziefer” which translates roughly to “vermin unfit for sacrifice” and covers any and all nasty creatures including bugs, spiders, and rodents. It can also be used to describe a detestable person.
@RadagastTBrown @vylpill You’re forgetting that you can withdraw your contributions tax and penalty free, it’s only the gains you pay on. It’s basically a savings account through that lens.
@Saudaay@m4o2h0@SperrysandNikes@satnakamoto1 Exactly. People have become accustomed to the hyper-stimulation of society. They can never just be. Most probably haven’t sat with their thoughts in years, if ever. Every waking moment consumed by work or media. Access to instant gratification of any kind. No authentic desire.
@zx200xz Working has always been a fact of life. Working today is arguably much easier and more rewarding than it has ever been. Try fixing your life outside of work. Fill it with more fulfilling activities. No TV/Netflix, no Reels/TikTok. Limited social media in general.
@StevenLeskMD@QuoteJung Homo Sapiens has systematized the mass murder of animals at a scale never seen before in the history of life on earth. About 202,000,000 chickens are slaughtered every single day.
I’m not necessarily saying it’s a bad thing; we have to eat. But your statement is disingenuous
@autogynefiles At an IQ of 100, you are perfectly average and most interactions will be normal for you. 2 standard deviations below you, people are considered mentally handicapped.
At an IQ of 130, 2 standard deviations below you people are average.
It becomes hard to relate to anyone.
@TeddyRmble@RandomSprint I think people like to imagine robotic workers as being humanoid. In fact, a fast food restaurant could be entirely automated without any “typical”robots, think factory-esque. Try to imagine a unit that is non-humanoid, or a combination of small and large specialized units.
@TeddyRmble@RandomSprint You’re going to be shocked at how good robots will be soon. Think Roomba but it has 3D schematics of an entire building and can maneuver into places no human can. One Electrician may manage a small fleet of robots and wire an entire skyscraper by himself in a few days.
@Jaque6898186189@BoyanSlat It’s not your problem if you don’t want it to be. What I’m pointing out is that there are people whose problem it is, who simultaneously are causing the problem. E.g. climate activists in the west. Their level of general consumption does not align to their supposed values.
