Today, @dapplion@nixorokish and @adietrichs led a debate on why and when should we consider making some changes on the Ethereum issuance curve.

Amazing evolution of the already incredibly useful 7540 standard! Kudos to @centrifuge for this, the development pace of tokenization, its tooling and resources is truly exciting to witness.
Asynchronous vaults solved a real problem. Assets that don't settle instantly, like tokenized funds with NAV cycles, couldn't fit the synchronous vault model.
But a pending deposit or redeem couldn't move. Once submitted, a request sat locked in the queue until fulfillment. For long-dated private credit, where redemption can take weeks or months, that meant a frozen position.
EIP-8161, co-authored by @offerijns, Co-Founder & CTO at Centrifuge Labs, is now finalized as an official Ethereum standard.
Pending requests can now transfer to another address. Markets can form around redemption requests still in the queue, letting holders exit before settlement and pulling long-dated assets like private credit deeper into DeFi.
Quite generalized take imo, vaults are great and provide composability that only is an issue if the underlying strategy (or collaterals if we talk about morpho vaults, because they are different) is bad quality or super risky... In the tradfi asset management world, investing in a fund locks you out of your money during the time you are exposed to it, vaults can easily solve making investors not lose opportunity cost elsewhere, they also provide transparency, specially if the whole flow of funds is on chain, just to name a few advantages... this take is like saying all guns are bad because some people use it to shoot each other... Is it terrible to do so? yes! But it's great when people use them mindfully

Duck has been an enormous contributor to the Ethereum and overall crypto ecosystem, he has helped thousands to land a new role in web3, now it's time to give him back a small % of what he has given to everybody.
I built JobStash to help people find crypto jobs. Now I need the Ethereum community’s help finding mine.
My time at Nethermind has ended. I’m looking for an Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering or Technical Program Director role with ownership across people, technology and execution.
At Nethermind, I led engineering delivery for Surge, a $1.6M program, and worked across business development, strategic accounts and incident response.
Thanks @Smartprogrammer for leading the product and @tkstanczak for trusting me with Surge.
Before that, I grew JobStash to 100k+ users, hired and managed a seven-person team, and owned its data and agentic AI systems.
Former Principal Engineer. 20+ years in software. I care deeply about Ethereum and want my best work yet in Ethereum, infrastructure, AI or developer tooling.

this is an inconvenience to my life
luckily, i live in switzerland, so i am unaffected by this homosexual rigamarole but here is the issue:
even if my security and privacy is good, 50% of my friends are european so THEY are being supervised and if they don't take their privacy seriously, my chats with them are still compromised and i suffer from a policy that shouldn't affect me
also, need some help on new setup:
i assume insta, telegram, whatsapp and text messages are all affected. is signal still save? how should i communicate with europoors now
Transparency update on our Flagship cbBTC Vault on Lagoon.
Good news first: the vault position is net positive and LP price-per-share stays whole. A recent event in the underlying pools would have shown a ~1.56% PPS drawdown, and rather than let LPs feel it, Tulipa Capital and 9Summits are absorbing the full amount through a treasury loan.
What happened: the vault holds ~108 cbBTC in the YieldBasis cbBTC pool. BTC volatility drove Temporary Redemption Discount (TRD) expansion in the legacy pools, with an uncertain and unpredictable recovery timeline. YieldBasis then launched new pools engineered to control TRD volatility and run as a more efficient, less price-sensitive mechanism. On YieldBasis's guidance, we migrated rather than wait, moving from 111.9263 to 108.506 cbBTC (~3.42 cbBTC). The position itself has been net positive since we entered it. What the TRD event affected was rewards we had already earned and counted toward PPS, not principal.
After one month of rewards and earnings in the new pools, the remaining deficit versus pre-migration PPS is 2.288 cbBTC. To close it, Tulipa Capital and 9Summits are loaning exactly that amount, 2.288 cbBTC, to the vault: 1 year at 2.00% interest, repaid in monthly payments totaling 2.334 cbBTC (principal plus interest). LPs see zero PPS reduction.
@Jefflau@LefterisJP I would be ashamed defending Nick actions (I guess you don't have a choice anyway).
And second, trying to bash rotki when it's probably one of the purest public goods out there, shame on you.
I have been called out for saying the DAO gave "peanuts" to everyone else but Labs, saying this is "unproductive hyperbole". I apologize for that. I just happen to have all the data of the DAO downloaded locally and decided to come up with a more precise view. Here it is.
@PAXTIBI_xyz You are absolutely right, but when we did DD on inessa (we probably were the first to do so), they really made a great effort to look as illegitimate as possible, of course with the time and rejections they adapted the pitch to please LP's, but still, impossible to pass proper DD
You trust someone else with the DD you should perform yourself? rug deserved
Trust self reported data without digging deeper? rug
I could go on... roll up your sleeves and study things, this doesn't guarantee you won't get rugged, but it will considerably lower the odds.
@LefterisJP The treasury was actually a large factor in motivating this. I don't feel like the multisig has legitimacy to decide how to spend the collected revenue; a DAO run by the users who made ENS a success has a lot more legitimacy.

@mbaril010 in Europe this only happens when there is enough space after everybody puts their trolley on the overhead compartment, sometimes someone think he is above everyone else but usually get called out by flight attendants
