@SurenVynn It’s a lot of what ifs. The assumption is always if we had been one country Malaysia (or Malayan Union) as a whole would have been better off rather than Singapore pulling ahead. problem or challenge is whether PAP and LKY would have retained that power in the whole Union though
@MsMelChen@Unveiled_ChinaX That is just lazy and a very generic observation. For the latter You are talking about Chinese who originate from China rather than sg. Every other person knows how to use WeChat for various reasons got nth to do if u speak Chinese at home. No one reads Chinese papers anymore.
@patrickbetdavid Essentially this meant giving up all possibilities of nuclear capacities for removal of sanctions and frozen assets. The rest is back to before. Was there even a need for any destruction and killing of innocent lives for that?
@GBNT1952 It could really have been a stronger coalition against Russia and China if he had not been treating the rest like they are nothing. What he did just made it domestically unpopular for any country to be seen helping the US when they have been treated like shit by Trump.
@GBNT1952 Largely agree but what u also fail to say is also Trump’s own actions and bullying of his allies have contributed to why NATO has largely stayed out. It could have been easy for them to join the Iran mission, Iran’s no friends to most of them.
@BowtiedPandaBr@DRTnky The key is this, u have reasonable options for something cheaper that doesn’t make u miserable. Car is expensive but spending 1k a month for relative comfort is reasonable. In many countries u can’t expect to be that cheap for taxis equivalents, and distance means car is a must.
@DRTnky And for people cooking their own food… I typically buy groceries for 2 and that is less than $100 a week for sure. Total spent is less than $400 a month, definitely affordable.
@abigbluebird That said had some debates with friends and many still think it wasn’t so much an option if they are worried about their kids “starting point” vs their peers who had all these classes and resources. Ended up it was more of a FOMO for the kids.
@abigbluebird I totally agree and growing up I never had all these enrichment and tuition on most years other than those I needed help. Think I turned out pretty well.
@Chiuchiyin@abigbluebird Yes but I think the author is saying as a local u have the option to buy hdb (whether as a married or single after 35). That is not cheap per se but the pension equivalent CPF covers for the installments usually, no out of pocket cash usually.
@GabrielNeo9@abigbluebird Of cos locals do. But the fact is that there are options. U can choose to live in cheaper housing if you are able to live with the fact it’s an older house in an inconvenient location (which is still accessible).
@JosephSomsel@abigbluebird Yes but for most people it’s not even a significant amount of your salary. For mine it’s prob 1% (inc water bills)!or less I use aircon when I sleep. For public housing owners they get more subsidies as well.
@ProfessorPape The only reason why they want to go to 90% is the constant threat from Israel and US. If they give up on what they have they have no leverage. No leverage and with a degraded military they are at the mercy of Israel and US. They can’t trust nations who assassinated their leaders.
@MarioNawfal Been to China multiple times in recent years. Definitely don’t feel the resentment nor doom and gloom you West have been propagating at. Yes the shopping malls are rather empty but other things are bustling and it’s way more advanced and developed even in lower tier cities.
