Bitcoin goes from $65,000 to $70,000. Who makes more money?

Many couldn't answer this, so I'll explain;

How does Leverage work?

Leverage works by using a deposit, known as margin. To provide you with increased exposure (via larger position size) to an underlying asset.

Example:

I want to open a $10,000 position using 10X leverage.
This requires a $1000 margin. ($1000 X 10 = $10,000)

Example:

I want to open a $10,000 position using 5X leverage
This requires a $2000 margin. ($2000 X 5 = $10,000)

Same position size, different margin.

This is why statements like these make no sense:

"Never use more than 5X leverage"
"50X leverage is too high"
"Low leverage means low profit"

Leverage doesn't matter position size does.

p.s Don't forget about liquidation.

It happens when traders fail to cover the margin requirement for their leveraged position.

If you have $1000 margin and your PnL is -$1000, you will get liquidated.

Keep your stop loss well above the liquidation price.

Think people underestimate how bad things can get for their shitcoins if BTC breaks down

The mood on here is "It's bad but once BTC goes up it'll be ok"

I'm not disagreeing with that, if BTC breaks the range upwards your coins will do decent, the tail case is brutal though
