A quick overview of different token standards (with details from @TheSpartanGroup Bitcoin research):

📜 BRC-20

In early 2023, DOMO unveiled BRC-20, an experimental Bitcoin token standard inspired by Ethereum's ERC-20.

🪙 It utilized Ordinal inscriptions and JSON data to create fungible tokens tailored for Bitcoin's ecosystem, though with constrained capabilities.

$ORDI, the inaugural BRC-20 token, attained a market capitalization surpassing $1 billion by May 2023, ranking among the top cryptocurrencies.

📜 BRC-721E

Collaboratively developed by Bitcoin Miladys, Ordinals Market, and Xverse, BRC-721E emerged as an experimental standard akin to Ethereum's ERC-721 for non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

🖼️ Initially, it enabled bridging Ethereum NFTs to Bitcoin, inscribing a simplified version with a link to the original and airdrop functionality.

📜 CY[BORD] (CBRC-20)

Imagine BRC-20 with a twist: more budget-friendly and user-friendly indexing.

📈 Key variances:

• Reduced costs for token setup, creation, and movement
• Streamlined indexing processes

📜 ORC-20

ORC-20 aimed to enhance BRC-20 with backward compatibility, flexible naming, and UTXO integration to prevent double-spending.

Meanwhile, ORC-CASH, based on the Ordinals Protocol, was designed as a streamlined ORC-20 variant optimized for UTXO security.

📜 RUNES

RUNES, an experimental fungible token protocol intended as a BRC-20 alternative.

Unlike BRC-20, RUNES avoided off-chain data and native tokens, instead utilizing UTXOs and specific script conditions for transaction identification.

📜 SRC-20

✍️ SRC-20, or Bitcoin Stamps, digital artifacts stored directly on Bitcoin's blockchain, existing in the UTXO set and resistant to pruning of data.

📜 STX-20

Lastly, the STX-20 inscription protocol standard, released in December 2023, enabled creating and sharing digital artifacts on the Stacks blockchain by embedding protocol information within STX token transfer metadata, limited to 34 symbols.

📈 Its launch led to one of the largest blocks on Stacks, with over 10,000 transactions.
