White Whale Labs is looking for a highly experienced brand/product designer for a focused, high-impact design project over the next 3–4 weeks.

We are building a highly engaged, consumer-first digital experience and need someone who can help bring the product to life visually before launch.

This is not a vague “maybe someday” role. We are moving now, and we are looking for someone who can step in quickly, understand the vision, help shape the visual identity, and deliver polished, production-ready design work.

Ideally, this is one senior person, not a chain of two or three people. You should be able to own the design direction from brand identity through high-fidelity product UI and handoff.

We are looking for real-world experience across:

Brand identity
High-fidelity product/UI design
Mobile-first web/app design
Consumer product interfaces
Figma component systems
Design systems
Developer handoff discipline
Production-ready visual direction

The initial scope is a one-off design project, with the possibility of ongoing contract work if it is a strong fit.

The work may include:

Creating or refining the core brand identity
Establishing the visual direction of the product
Designing high-fidelity, mobile-first screens in Figma
Building a clean component/component-library structure
Improving the clarity, polish, and usability of core user flows
Helping establish a consistent art direction
Preparing assets and handoff materials for implementation

This is not a front-end development role. We are looking for a designer who can work with an existing product direction and help turn it into something that feels sharp, intuitive, trustworthy, and highly engaging.

Must-haves:

You have been professionally employed or contracted to do this kind of work before
You can show examples of shipped work, not just concept art or pretty mockups
You have strong Figma experience
You understand mobile-first product design
You understand design systems and developer handoff
You can work quickly and communicate clearly
You are available to dedicate meaningful time over the next 3-4 weeks
You have experience designing consumer-facing digital products

Gaming-style interfaces
Consumer apps
Interactive dashboards
Motion design
Lottie
3D
Production illustration direction
