I’ve been looking into @NullSaintsxyz , a new privacy project building on Robinhood Chain.
The concept is actually more interesting than I expected, but there’s a big distinction to make:
The technology is real.
Whether NULL can execute it is still unproven.
◆ So what is NULL?
NULL wants to make DeFi activity private.
On a normal EVM chain, once someone identifies your wallet they can track your positions, swaps, collateral, borrowing activity and where the funds move next.
NULL wants to create a shielded layer where you can privately:
→ transfer
→ swap
→ lend/borrow
while ZK proofs verify that the transactions are valid without exposing the full financial state behind them.
And yes — this is technically possible.
◆ This isn’t exactly Zcash
Zcash proved that ZK cryptography can be used for private money.
NULL is going after something broader: private financial activity.
Think less:
Alice → 10 ZEC → Bob
and more:
wallet → shield → tokenized stock → swap → collateral → borrow
with much less of that activity publicly connected to your wallet.
There are already projects proving different parts of this model.
RAILGUN brought privacy to EVM assets and DeFi interactions.
Penumbra built shielded swaps.
Aztec is building programmable private smart contracts.
So NULL isn't inventing privacy from scratch.
What could make it interesting is applying these ideas specifically to tokenized markets on Robinhood Chain.
◆ That might actually be the real use case
If stocks and RWAs increasingly move onchain, wallet privacy becomes a much bigger issue.
Imagine your wallet holds tokenized NVDA, TSLA or HOOD.
Anyone who identifies that address could potentially monitor your portfolio:
what you own
how much you own
when you sell
what you rotate into
what you borrow against
NULL essentially wants to make that financial graph private.
That makes more sense to me than building another privacy protocol purely for anonymous transfers.
◆ The hard part is lending
Private transfers have already been proven.
Private swaps have been proven.
Private lending is where NULL becomes much more ambitious.
The protocol somehow needs to verify collateral, debt and liquidation conditions without exposing the entire position.
ZK can theoretically do this.
Doing it securely in production is another story.
If NULL actually delivers private lending against tokenized assets, that’s probably the feature worth paying attention to.
◆ But right now, there’s a gap between the idea and the evidence
I haven’t found enough public technical material yet to verify the full implementation.
What I’d like to see:
GitHub / ZK circuits
→ deployed contracts
→ real shielded transactions
→ audit
→ actual usage
◆ Where I land for now
I don’t think the interesting question is whether NULL’s idea is possible.
It is.
Zcash, RAILGUN, Penumbra and Aztec have already proven different pieces of the technology.
The interesting bet is whether NULL can combine:
privacy + DeFi + tokenized assets + Robinhood Chain
into an actual usable product.
That combination could have a legitimate use case if tokenized stocks become a meaningful part of onchain finance.
But for now I’m watching the engineering, not the narrative.
Code → contracts → transactions → audit → users.
If those start showing up, NULL becomes much more interesting.
