Biggest crypto heist in history:
• Date: Oct 29 - $6.36B drained in ∼20 mins across 10 chains
• Group: TraderTraitor - North Korea's state-sponsored op
• Method: Compromised laptop + malware that deleted evidence [Binance co-CEO]
• Laundering: Converting primarily to $ETH, then via DeFi / instant-swaps
• Recovery: Binance covered 90% loss from SAFU fund + treasury, users safe

Binance confirms $6.3B hot wallet hack (Oct 29) — largest crypto theft ever

1️⃣Says user funds are SAFU. Setting aside $6.34B to cover losses, 80% already secured in USDT, USDC, BTC, ETH, BNB. $3B in stolen assets frozen on-chain.

2️⃣Withdrawals to resume in phases within ∼34 hrs. New Proof of Reserves snapshot coming by Nov 2.

3️⃣No evidence of private key leak yet. Investigation ongoing.
