Simon Michel verkauft in der NZZ das neue EU-Vertragspaket als angeblich «letzte Chance», um eine EU-Mitgliedschaft der Schweiz zu verhindern. Wer Nein sage, riskiere eine «Eiszeit», und niemand wisse, was danach komme. Diese Dramaturgie ist nichts anderes als politisches Theater mit eingebauter Angstkulisse. Sie verdreht die Machtverhältnisse und verkauft die Schweiz kleiner, schwächer und abhängiger, als sie tatsächlich ist.

Denn dieses Vertragswerk ist kein schweizerisches Wunschprojekt, sondern seit Jahren ein strategisches Kernanliegen der EU. Aus Sicht Brüssels ist es ein hervorragendes Geschäft: mehr Geld aus der Schweiz, erleichterter Zugang zum attraktiven Schweizer Arbeitsmarkt und zusätzlicher Einfluss in zentralen Bereichen wie Strom, Migration und Rechtsetzung. Die Vorteile liegen klar auf Seiten der EU, ernsthafte Nachteile für Brüssel sind kaum erkennbar. Warum also sollte die EU ein solches Paket nicht wollen?

Noch entscheidender ist jedoch der institutionelle Kern dieses Konstrukts. Mit diesem Vertragspaket bekäme Brüssel genau jene Mechanismen, die es gegenüber der Schweiz seit Jahren anstrebt: automatische Rechtsübernahme, fremdbestimmte Aufsicht, Schiedsmechanismen mit faktischer Bindung an das EU-Recht und eine schrittweise Integration über einzelne Sektoren. Auf dem Papier bliebe die Schweiz zwar ausserhalb der Union. In der Realität würde sie aber näher an den EU-Entscheidungsapparat herangerückt — ohne Sitz, ohne Stimme, ohne gleichwertige Mitsprache.

Genau darin liegt die eigentliche Täuschung: Man verkauft der Bevölkerung Unabhängigkeit, während man in Wahrheit eine strukturelle Unterordnung vorbereitet. Der sogenannte bilaterale Weg wäre damit immer weniger ein Weg auf Augenhöhe, sondern zunehmend eine Einbahnstrasse in Richtung schleichender Anbindung.

Und genau hier liegt die entscheidende Frage: Was passiert, wenn die Schweiz dieses Paket einmal unterschreibt? Dann könnte sich sehr schnell zeigen, dass es eben kein harmloses Update der Bilateralen ist, sondern ein politischer Point of no return. Solche Verträge lassen sich später kaum mehr rückgängig machen, weil die wirtschaftlichen Verflechtungen weiter vertieft, die institutionellen Abhängigkeiten ausgebaut und der politische Druck von EU, Bundesverwaltung, Grosskonzernen und Verbänden immer grösser würde, ja nichts mehr infrage zu stellen.

Am Ende bliebe dann womöglich nur noch die scheinbar «logische» Konsequenz: der formelle EU-Beitritt. Nicht als freier, souveräner Entscheid eines selbstbewussten Landes, sondern als Endpunkt eines Prozesses, der unter wohlklingenden Begriffen wie «Bilaterale III» schrittweise vorbereitet und schöngefärbt wurde.

Wer also heute behauptet, dieses Abkommen sichere die Unabhängigkeit der Schweiz, sollte eine einfache und unangenehme Gegenfrage beantworten: Was, wenn dieses Paket nicht die Unabhängigkeit schützt, sondern genau das Gegenteil bewirkt — und die Schweiz Schritt für Schritt dorthin führt, wohin sie nie wollte?

Hier noch eine kürzere, noch härtere Version für ein Statement:

Simon Michel verkauft Angst als Argument und Unterordnung als Weitsicht. Das EU-Vertragspaket ist kein Schutzschild für die Unabhängigkeit der Schweiz, sondern ein schleichender Mechanismus zu ihrer Aushöhlung. Brüssel bekäme mehr Geld, mehr Einfluss und mehr Zugriff — die Schweiz bekäme mehr Pflichten, mehr Fremdbestimmung und weniger Handlungsspielraum. Auf dem Papier bliebe man unabhängig, in der Realität würde man sich institutionell anbinden, ohne mitentscheiden zu können. Wer das als Rettung der Souveränität verkauft, betreibt politisches Framing. Die wahre Gefahr ist nicht das Nein des Volkes. Die wahre Gefahr ist ein Ja zu einem Paket, das aus dem bilateralen Weg eine Einbahnstrasse Richtung EU-Anbindung macht.

Skandalös

Der Ständerat hat mit 23 zu 22 Stimmen abgelehnt, dass die Kompass-Initiative vor der Abstimmung über die EU-Verträge vors Volk kommt.

Heisst im Klartext: Erst will Bern das EU-Unterwerfungsvertragspaket durchdrücken – und erst danach soll das Volk darüber entscheiden dürfen, ob genau solche EU-Verträge künftig ein Ständemehr brauchen. Hier ist die demokratische Reihenfolge komplett auf den Kopf gestellt.

Wer so handelt, schützt nicht die direkte Demokratie und die Souveränität der Schweiz 🇨🇭 , sondern den Fahrplan und die Machtlogik in Bern. Bei 23 zu 22 ist das kein Zufall – das ist eine bewusste Verweigerung von Klarheit und Fairness.

Alle, die hier Minus/Nein gestimmt haben, haben bewusst verhindert, dass das Volk zuerst über die Kompass-Initiative abstimmt – also darüber, ob wichtige EU-Verträge mit Rechtsübernahme künftig ein Ständemehr brauchen.

Das ist keine „technische Frage“. Das ist Machtpolitik: Erst EU-Verträge durchboxen, dann erst über die Spielregeln reden. Wer so abstimmt, nimmt in Kauf, dass die Schweiz Schritt für Schritt Kompetenzen abgibt – und verkauft das dann als „pragmatisch“ oder „alternativlos“.

Nennt es wie ihr wollt: Für mich ist das ein Abbau direkter Demokratie und ein Signal, dass man die Souveränität der Schweiz lieber in Brüssel „integriert“, als dem Souverän eine saubere Reihenfolge und klare Entscheidung zu geben.
