That is an incredibly cringe and stupid reason for using any security product.

Let alone a bitcoin wallet.

Btw just for those asking. I have zero financial connection to this company. Have never been paid by them nor invested in them. Have zero insight into operations or decision making. I’m just a regular customer who spent thousands of dollars on the products and used them himself.

We wanted to believe Bitcoin could be easy for others even when we knew it was hard for us.

That is a failure.

Looking back over my own statements about coldcard over the years and here I am in one telling a fellow Bitcoiner that coldcard is good for single sig. the very thing being exploited.

While I did push multi vendor multisig often, the fact that I occasionally touted coldcard as “the best” despite having no ability to audit this claim is unacceptable to me.

I fell for the social proof of technical and respected friends using it and recommending it. I assumed someone was looking. Apparently no one was. I am sorry.

SCAM ALERT: just got the worlds most obvious phishing attempt urging me to download the new Coldcard Desktop app. There never was, is or will be a coldcard desktop app. This is a scavenger trying to get people during a state of panic. Stay safe out there guys.
