The "NSA created Bitcoin" theory suggests that Satoshi Nakamoto was either a codename for a team of intelligence operatives or a front for a government operation — most notably the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA).
The idea is that Bitcoin wasn’t the product of an anonymous genius, but rather a carefully constructed project designed to introduce blockchain technology under the illusion of decentralization.
Some even claim that the name “Satoshi Nakamoto” roughly translates to “central intelligence” when broken down:
Satoshi (悟) = wise, intelligent
Naka (中) = central, inside
Moto (本) = origin, root, basis
Why the theory might be true:
- 1996 NSA paper outlined anonymous digital cash — years before Bitcoin.
- SHA-256, Bitcoin’s core algorithm, was created by the NSA.
- Launched in 2008 during the financial crisis — suspiciously perfect timing.
- Satoshi vanished with flawless OPSEC — more like an agency than a hobbyist.
- 1M BTC untouched — who leaves billions sitting idle?
- Possible test for digital control tools or future CBDCs.
