Several poll respondents referred to manga that get digital/e-book releases (not print) as being in "digital jail."
In JP, digital manga sales are +65% (JP) of the market & it's up to +80% in KR. Any theories on why N. American readers aren't following this trend?
@debaoki Plus, we can't dismiss the beauty of having a shelf full of colorful spines especially for a longer series. You see it and it looks like a physical timeline of passion and progress✨️
@debaoki Digital is easy to get your hands on and Print is more passionate & practiced with craft. Printing itself is an artform especially where the plates have to be turned upside down, and doing the process backwards to achieve the manga result. Print is worth the price when done right
@debaoki As a Mangaka, Print is alot more authentic than digital. The journey to collect and fulfill a series is fun. Plus having folks venture to a bookstore to meet and talk with excitement & anticipation is something you can't get from the digital space. Print is much more personal🌟.
