In just two weeks, we shipped x402 Articles, a micropayment infrastructure for digital content built on the x402 protocol (HTTP 402 Payment Required standard) on Solana. It consists of a Content Service API, an x402 payment layer, and an ATXP MCP server.

Traditional payment processors charge 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. On a $0.01 article, that’s a 3,100% fee, and why micropayments for articles have so far been impossible. But readers have subscription fatigue and the advertising model is dead. So how can journalists monetize?
