Every Cuban born since 1962 has lived their entire lives under the US blockade. Joe Biden and eleven presidents before him seem to derive pleasure from the suffering they cause to regular Cubans. Joe, have a heart. Be different. Be kind.

Twelve American presidents have delighted in the pain they cause for regular Cubans. Joe Biden promised to be different. Now he says Cubans are “not a priority.” No wonder Americans are cynical about Democrat and Republican campaign promises.

“War should always be the absolute last resort.” — Joe Biden. Isn’t the blockade of Cuba a war by another name? How about ending Washington’s covert war on Cubans by returning to Obama-era Cuba relations as you promised when soliciting votes?

“The president has a big stick.” — Joe Biden. In Cuba, your corporal punishment causes hunger and hardship. How about showing compassion instead by ending hundreds of sanctions Trump made against Cubans? You promised.

“Income inequity has to be addressed.” — Joe Biden. Decades of White House policies designed to impoverish and punish Cubans cause income inequity. Here’s your chance to address an income inequity. End the 240 Trump sanctions on Cuba.

“It is my view that we cannot conduct foreign policy at the extremes.” — Joe Biden. Do restricting travel, preventing remittances, blockading shipments of food, medicine, and life essentials constitute “extreme”? Why do you do this to Cubans?

“The American people have not become heartless.” — Joe Biden. Correct. The overwhelming majority of American people want the blockade of Cuba to end and relations normalized. Have a heart like Americans who voted for you, Joe.

“No nation should threaten its neighbors by massing troops along the border.” — Joe Biden. What about your support for massing hundreds of economic sanctions against Cuba? Cubans feel threatened all the time by the US blockade – war without troops.

“During the 60’s, I was, in fact, very concerned about the civil rights movement.” — Joe Biden. Were you concerned about human rights, too? If so, erase the 240 inhumane measures Trump imposed on Cuba. You promised to do so, remember?

“No nation should stoke instability in its neighbor’s country.” — Joe Biden. How come you honor and respect the 240 Trump restrictions designed to create instability in Cuba, Joe? You promised to end them. Have a heart, guy.

“In my heart, I’m confident I could make a good president.” — Joe Biden. Good presidents keep their promises. You pledged to return to Obama-era Cuba policies. Have a heart, Joe. End the suffering Trump caused.

“Innovation can only occur where you can breathe free.” — Joe Biden. We agree, Joe. It’s difficult for Cubans to breathe free and be innovative when suffering from 240 crippling sanctions imposed by Trump. Sanctions you promised to end.
