@elitejcx@Milton20032003@JeMappellePercy The term "Scot" in it earliest incarnation referred to the Gaels of Ireland. There was a Gaelic Kingdom on the west coast of Scotland. These people, the picts and some other groups basically formed what later became a Scottish Kingdom.
@andrewlaniganla Romeo Akachukwu has a chance. Has the athletic & technical ability. Needs to find a way into the Southampton team next year. Only 19, played on loan at Colchester 2nd half of last season. Its a huge step up from being good underage so you never can tell!
@jonathankm00@andrewlaniganla Probably waiting on England & pretty slow. Good technically though. If you are slow now you will be eaten up at international level.
@domhowson Its actually a reasonable take that can be argued with, it's also entertaining which is what punditry is meant to be or else what is the point??
@SamBrowning27@JeMappellePercy And CARICOM isn't chancers. It's 20 nations with a published 10-point plan that's mostly debt relief, public health and education not cheques in the post. Reparation can mean repair. That's literally the word.
@SamBrowning27@JeMappellePercy The Barbary slave trade was a crime too. Saying so costs nothing and changes nothing here. One atrocity isn't laundered by pointing at another that's deflection, not an argument.
@BarryOnHere 28m watched USA/Paraguay v 24.5m watching NBA final game 5. Soccer is the 2nd most participated team sport in the US only trailing Basketball. You might want to think Americans dont care about soccer, truth is the facts say they do!
@SamBrowning27@JeMappellePercy You can reject collective inherited guilt while still recognising that historical systems created advantages and disadvantages that continue to shape the present. 2
@SamBrowning27@JeMappellePercy Supporting slavery reparations is not the same thing as blaming individual English people alive today for the crimes of the British Empire. One is an argument about how societies address the long term consequences of historical injustice, the other is about personal guilt. 1
@JeMappellePercy .. making were Anglo Irish and essentially British by their own self declaration. The Irish are not responsible for the crimes of the British empire, those crimes are the responsibility of the architects of empire, in London.
@JeMappellePercy Ireland was Britain's first colony, not its co-author. That some Irish individuals served the Empire doesn't make a colonised people responsible for the coloniser's crimes. You don't conscript a nation and then bill it for the war. Any Irish individuals involved in decision ..
