While I'm mostly at the other place, I sometimes come over here just to lurk and see what folks who haven't come over yet have posted and DAMN it has gotten EXPONENTIALLY worse here in just a couple weeks.
Trending used to be a mix of folks now it is 100% chuds. Remarkable.
Harris didn't run on woke stuff, but people mentally blend other things with Democratic messaging, like college protests and their company's DEI training. Not sure what a campaign is supposed to do about that.
No matter how difficult everything feels, there is always something important to hope for, much like the time I ate through five bags of garbage and found three donuts that were barely chewed on. I am a bear.
I have already seen a DOZEN different people with huge platforms (and wildly different "things" they were suggesting before the election) declare that this result proves them right and... that's not how this works!
The only coherent political thought I can produce right now is: we have to investigate why turnout for registered democrats was so much lower, AND we have to go into it without preconceived notions of "It was the specific thing I was suggesting before the election."
@freganmitts Did you see Bottoms? While it's not like... a direct analogue to the 90s adventure comedies, it was the first movie I'd seen in a long time that had the vibes of a midlist pre-millennial banger.
I just keep seeing posts about polls and every single one has a huge chunk of people who are worried about crime and even centrist democrats like gavin newsom are doing cruel wasteful horrifying things to homeless people that do not help improve ANYTHING and it is INSANE
the average person is SO STUPID about crime and homelessness and it feels completely impossible to combat, especially considering the way that mass and social media both work
crime is low!
housing is so much cheaper than incarceration!
wage theft steals more than burglary!
