High-voltage lines buried along road and rail rights of way could carry renewable power across the U.S. — if a lot of novel challenges can be overcome https://t.co/4E5EJyTwH3

Omg I just overheard one of my kid's teachers say that the power is down in Texas because their grid has so much wind and (omg) I *jumped into the Zoom* to say that was false and the gas plants r frozen too. 😬
Omg I couldn't resist, but my kid is NEVER going to forgive me. 🤭
To be fair: you can't really count on wind. But ERCOT also WASNT counting on wind much, assuming only ~6 GW would be available (currently theres 1.6 GW). They WERE counting on gas and coal plants (~70 GW of them), which have failed in a massive way: ~25-30 GW have been offline.
While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember: @ossoff, Jewish son of an immigrant & @ReverendWarnock, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black + Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America.
The scenes from the Capitol are utterly horrifying. Solidarity with those in 🇺🇸 on the side of democracy and the peaceful and constitutional transfer of power. Shame on those who have incited this attack on democracy.
y’all kill me talkin about “Covid is Real” as soon as someone you know gets it
it’s been real since March, baby cakes, you’re just programmed to not care about things until they affect you
