Barcelona may be the best city in Europe. It's not because it does one thing better than other cities. It just doesn't have any of the weaknesses of other places

The climate is Mediterranean. So you don't get depressing 4 months of northern Europe. There are bike lanes everywhere and transit is excellent. Other med cities struggle with this

It's an international city so it doesn't feel provincial

Architecture is great

It has a beach and a mountain in case you want to escape.

The tourists and expats are segregated by the natives by one street called diagonal. Do you can see the indigenous people in their natural habitat undisturbed.
