@JammersMinde Aye, I know what you mean. I'm no expert, I just suppose they factor in risk of future crime as well as harm caused already 🤷♂️ The one I can't understand is concurrent sentences, where if I murder two people they say, "Right that's 20 years for each murder, but they run together
@FruellaDeBrille A man's view, which is important: I'm too old to find a decent coke dealer these days otherwise that would be me wandering the streets of Doncaster, but with more delicate wrists.
@KebabSausage "Le superflu, chose très nécessaire," - Voltaire, asked to comment on tasteless bored housewives spending their ageing mother's money on cheap tat.
@AlexArthur1@ClonesCyclone Excellent shout. I was only 11, and I can't remember if we watched it on telly or just got a VHS of it somehow, but my friend, "Ferret," and I watched and re-enacted it many times in my back garden, much to my mother's consternation 😆
@kebabwhisperer@KebabSausage@stopfckinglying Could she mean, "a guilty verdict in my son's murder case is a misnomer"? It would be legally and morally incorrect, and grammatically clumsy, but it could be found valid on a technicality. Unlike her son's, "Ah wiz jus drivin the motor!" plea, sadly.
@FeministRoar It's an interesting moment. I think neither the Tories, Reform or Labour plotters want to push too hard because none of them are ready to offer a viable alternative. Without McSweeny, Starmer needs to find his own political vision and not just competent organisational management.
