How Odisha can become a 'model' if cities like Berhampur, Rourkela, Cuttack cannot dream of an Airport at this age, while comparable cities in other states are building massive airports?

At present, about 924 acres have been identified for a multi-modal logistics park near Navi Mumbai International Airport.
This raises a question—why can’t Odisha consider Cuttack as a future international aviation hub?
Near Cuttack Airport, @AdaniOnline already has around 1000 acres of land.
This area has strong potential to be developed into a multi-modal logistics park, sunrise manufacturing zone, tech park, university hub, and other modern industries.
If we compare with Mumbai’s logistics park location, Cuttack already has many natural and existing advantages that our ancestors have given us.
The area is well connected by the East Coast Railway, and multiple nearby railway stations could be developed into a suburban rail network like mumbai and berlin. It also has water connectivity through the Mahanadi River and Rengali Canal.
In terms of roads, the proposed 6lane in NH-55 and the upcoming Capital Region Ring Road (6 lane) will improve connectivity further. These routes, along with rail links directly have connected acre area to Cuttack Airport and NH-16 (6lane)
Given all these advantages, it would be worth considering why this land is being used for cement and thermal power plants instead of future-focused, non-polluting industrie, sunrise manufacturing and multimodal logistice hub.

Did Odisha know?
Cuttack was HUGE in modern history!
Most people think Cuttack was just a city squeezed between two rivers “mahanadi & kathajodi” — but that’s only part of the story.
In reality, “Katak” or Cuttack was the name used for a vast stretch of coastal Odisha. Most of the coastal region was once known as Katak/Cuttack.
And here’s a fascinating historical fact — on 23rd October 1828, for the first time ever, the great Province of Cuttack was split into three districts:
1.Cuttack
2.Puri
3.Balasore
……..
So the next time someone says “Cuttack is just a city between two rivers”
you can tell them:
It was once an entire coastal world.

If North, Central, and South Cuttack are linked with multiple cable-stayed bridges, the city could look stunning like cities in China while also attracting tourists and easing traffic.
To those opposing a tech park in Cuttack, we let u all know this: many projects now in Khordha were originally planned for Naraj, ctc (990 acres) & All depend heavily on ctc’s water. So whyn‘t ctc for tech & sunrise industries too? Why is ctc chosen only for pollution industries?
@slowberlin Cuttack already has a railway ring like Berlin’s S-Bahn model.
What only CTC now needs is at least 2 dedicated RRTS trains on a circular route, with each station developed as hub for education,business & economic activity, integrated with Ama Buses & trams to reduce city traffic
Now ARC is defunct in cuttack airport, why is there no demand to convert cuttack into an international airport?
when ARC was active in delhi airport, the Congress govt jointly privatized Delhi airport with an GMR & foreign partners
@Naveen_Odisha@sasmitpatra@debashish_mla
Initial opposition to Delhi Airport privatization was due to national security use by PM, President, Air Force, SPG, BSF & ARC
Yet it was privatized in May 2006.
Now, even after ARC in Cuttack Airport is defunct, the airport is still awaiting conversion for civil use
@MoCA_GoI
On the old AAI official portal, the airport is listed by its original name “Cuttack Airport” not “Charbatia Airbase or Airport”
We kindly request everyone to use the correct name #cuttack_airport & avoid confusion.
ARC operated here earlier but has been defunct since 2021
Why are we Odias so happy that Russia will supply crude oil to India?
Do we have enough facilities in Odisha to store that oil?
What is the current status of the Chandikhol SPR?
Why not plan for oil refinery & petrochemical near Chandikhol SPR or NW-5 like vizag & mangalore?
Cuttack gave the capital to Bhubaneswar.
Gave land, water, sand, zoo, caves & key govt offices too
Now the question is 👇
After giving so much
What has Cuttack received in return?
Equal development?
Big infrastructure projects?
International Airport ?
Cuttack deserves answer
Hon’ble MP Shri @BhartruhariM requested the administration not to allow chimney-based industries within the Capital Region Ring Road & instead emphasized the need for pharmaceuticals, IT Tech parks, universities & other green industries.
@NITIAayog@_anugarg@ushapadhee1996
If a “Turtle Trail” links major Olive Ridley nesting sites, the Puri coast may come under stricter conservation norms.
This could jeopardise the Puri International Airport project.
Conservation & development need balance, but clarity is essential.
