@_commoncentsmom@oliviachow You can’t claim 64% who didn’t vote equates to being unhappy with the direction the city is going in. The only number that is relevant to that statement are the ones who did vote and voted for someone else with the Braeden votes excluded.
@idolmock@Bellyhungry@_commoncentsmom@oliviachow Just because they didn’t vote doesn’t mean they are unhappy with the direction the city is going in. That’s a large fallacy in her thinking. People voting against her is saying they don’t care for the direction the city is going in.
@PeeCee62@isaaccallan That one would be a bit tricky as I don’t think Brad and Chris ran on the same platform besides being a Chow alternative but for argument sake sure. Add 3,550 votes to Brad and 8,102 more to Olivia’s total.
@ifuwannakickit@supriyadwivedi I think it’s safe to say all but a handful of Braeden votes were meant for her. I’ll say a handful only as he might have voted himself and got a few of his friends and family.
@mezilla87@supriyadwivedi If they watched the debate it would give them even more reason to vote for her and not Bradford. Bradford got bodied on the debate because he couldn’t hide from his record and looked like he didn’t understand how things worked in government.
@GreenScubaSuit@supriyadwivedi I think the potential privatization of the water system really got people out to vote against him. Seemed like there was quite the shift from polling in some areas as Chow ramped up her campaign hammering Brad on this.
@observinthecity@PeterMilczyn The most damning point was when they asked him what was his plan B if the independent audit won’t find the savings he needs? He was adamant it would. That’s poor leadership.
@matthewjburns@wyatt_claypool I didn’t vote for her last election but was pleasantly surprised by how much she has turned things around despite having also to deal with the over reach of the Ford government. Her second term will be very interesting.
@crackass74@wyatt_claypool I found that the most appalling of this race. Sometimes you forget how racist people can be but they were very vocal online especially as Bradford gained on her in the polls.
