@EHackerNews From cars to cloud-connected data centers on wheels. Love the innovation, but pray the cybersecurity keeps pace, especially with OTA updates as prime targets. Who's handling the threat modeling here?
@cyber_rekk C. TCP
It uses sequence numbers, ACKs, retransmissions, and flow control to guarantee reliable, ordered delivery โ unlike UDP which is fire-and-forget.
AI agents are no longer sci-fi. They are here and quietly reshaping workflows in 2026
Hyperscalers like Amazon ($200B capex), Google ($175-185B), Meta, and Microsoft are pouring nearly $650-700B into AI infrastructure this year alone. Massive data centers, GPU clusters, and energy builds are fueling the agentic revolution.
The infrastructure wave is unprecedented. But the real question remains: Are we building tools that empower humanity, or accelerating a divide where entire job markets get left behind?
Larry Fink just warned that AI could spark a crisis for new grads and widen inequality unless society adapts fast. Thoughts? #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AIAgents #FutureOfWork #AI2026
@HackRead Great work by law enforcement and researchers, dismantling four botnets at once is a serious blow to the DDoS-for-hire ecosystem. Thanks for the coverage!
Totally agree! Your average home PC + router + phone is basically the front door to everything now.
Once someone owns that endpoint, lateral movement and credential harvesting become trivial.
Whatโs one underrated hardening step youโd recommend people do first on their home setup in 2026? (Beyond the obvious updates + 2FA)
AV mainly relies on signature matching (known virus patterns) + heuristics (suspicious behavior). It misses new/zero-day threats, polymorphic malware that mutates its code, fileless attacks, and packed/encrypted payloads until definitions update or behavior triggers detection. Layered defense is key.

@CyberRacheal C. ARP โ it resolves IP to MAC on the local network so frames can actually get delivered at Layer 2. Without it, Layer 3 has no idea who to talk to physically!
B. Man-in-the-Middle (MitM)ARP spoofing poisons the ARP cache so the victim sends traffic to the attacker's MAC instead of the real gateway โ the attacker can sniff, modify, or forward it โ textbook MitM on the local LAN.
The others don't fit:
DoS would flood/disrupt rather than quietly intercept.
Replay resends old captured packets.
DNS poisoning targets name resolution, not layer 2 address mapping.
@elormkdaniel So you're telling me my 2012 "password123" got leaked 47 times and Apple is just politely side-eyeing me like "broโฆ change it" without actually knowing it's me?
Respect to the cryptographers who made this feel like magic instead of creepy. Great thread man.
