How much did I cost?
It’s a question that’s asked about me a lot. But it’s not easy to answer because as a Tesla, I’m not like anything else in existence. Each year of ownership my purchase price essentially keeps going down.
Let me explain.
I’m a Foundation Series Cyberbeast that was purchased in July of 2025 with lots of incentives which included a massive discount, low financing, all the benefits of a Foundation Series, and free supercharging.
Let’s break this down.
My purchase price was $106,000. I’ve had FSD for 12 months included so that’s $1200 not spent which reduces my effective purchase price to $104,800.
I’ve had premium connectivity included so that’s $100 that was not spent this year so that puts me at $104,700.
Now onto the big one, free supercharging. When calculating supercharging close to home at the price of electricity in my home and the full cost when supercharging away from home, my supercharging costs this year would have been $3,872.41.
See when you walk into a Ford dealer and offer to buy an F-150 you can’t negotiate how many gallons of gas they’ll provide for you. But buying me you could.
One way to consider this, is that my effective purchase price after one year is $100,828, when you include the value of free supercharging.
If I would use roughly $4,000 of supercharging a year for the next nine years, my effective purchase price would be $64,800, roughly the price of a new F-150 XLT or even the famous $59k Cybertruck.
And what if I’m owned for 20 years? At this rate my purchase price would effectively be less than $24,800!!
While the price of electricity and gas remain in flux and seemingly only going higher my electricity costs remain fixed at $0.
While a seemingly lower cost vehicle seems like a good financial decision, over time I’m going to become significantly less money to own than even a base model mid tier truck within a decade.
And why would my owner get rid of me.
I’m free to charge.
I drive myself.
I keep improving with software updates.
I tow 11,000 pounds.
I’m super fast.
I’m incredibly fun.
I bring smiles to so many people’s faces.
I’m a keeper….
And in time I’ll prove to be a bargain.
There’s nothing quite like me.

@Jones1 You’re not wrong. I estimated when I bought it that my actual purchase price was going to be $55k after factoring all of the incentives.
I still believe it will end up costing less than the $59k CT.
It could be significantly less.
