[Cycle4Haiti @Cycle4Haiti]

Cycle4haiti’s Grand Finale is only a week away! There is a compulsory cycle tomorrow and we ask that all cyclists attend this as it’s a great chance to cycle as part of a large group and prepare yourself mentally and physically for the main event. Full details below:

#Cycle4haiti top tip #9:

Consume the right amount of calories and food needed for your cycle. Carbohydrates help increase your energy levels, protein-rich foods improve your post-ride recovery and drinks containing glucose and fructose can improve performance and endurance.

#Cycle4haiti top tip #8:

Cycle at a safe pace, especially when cycling on busy streets and going downhill. Slow down in pedestrian areas and yield to those on foot.

#Cycle4haiti top tip #7:

Cycle in a straight line and try to be predictable in your movements -- effective positioning will help you be seen on the road. Don’t use mobile devices or headphones while cycling – stay distraction-free.

#Cycle4haiti top tip #1:

Maintain your bike properly – keep your brakes and chain in good working order, and your tyres well-inflated. Adjust seat height for an efficient and pain-free ride; when seated your leg should be almost straight, with your foot flat on the lower pedal.
